Change the swearing rule to allow swearing in all chat channels in moderation that are not directed at a user or a particular group of people. Possibly change the swearing rules to something like this: Clause 2 - Vulgarity Inappropriate and vulgar language is allowed to some extent as long as it doesn't violate any of these circumstances: Repeated or excessive swearing, and especially vulgar language directed at anyone, is not tolerated under any circumstance. Racist language or prejudicial language of any sort falls under the vulgarity rule, and is considered a very serious offence, punishment of which may not warrant a warning before being given a ban.
-1 Decency, being a family friendly server, kids playing, and all that. The fact that you wish to swear in front of young kids is repugnant. I'm not saying it doesn't happen in IRL and they don't see it, but there is no need to add to it. No need to change this. Players skirt the edges now, it would just make things worse.
I agree with Emau and swearing will just get worse than it already is if rules are relaxed anymore. It is bad enough when staff that are more cursing tolerant are the only ones on as these are the times that it really gets out of hand as nothing is said or done to stem the childish outbursts. Why can't this just be taken to a remote local channel or private message? The only attention this brings is negative attention and it is sad when we have younger players begging for the cursing to stop (many do not want to lose their being able to play on ecc because of these childish antics).
I don't think this accurately represents the server as a whole - many players are either not okay with swearing or simply do not wish to see it. I'm also not exactly how this is different than the current rule other than slightly expanding the list of obscenities allowed, and you haven't really provided any reasoning on why this suggestion would be beneficial.
I'm going to say the same thing I say on all suggestions on changing the swearing rule. There is no majority here. for every person who doesn't mind swearing, there is someone who does. So the way it is now is good. and it shouldn't be touched.
Many people as well are not okay with decisions made by the government, yet are forced and confined to abide by those rules.
We should make a rule that you can swear as much as you want, as long as it's only Shakespeare-era swear words or earlier. Could be very educational. I think @UnitedStates2002 could really get into things like "God's blood!" and "A curse on your first-born, in all your generations."
