Minecraft Name: brandbauer Suggestion: Make it so that you can queue and budget buying stocks when the stock market it closed. You can do this by putting in a rollover order and budget on what stock you want, then the program will automatically buy the stock for you when the market opens back up. Reason: Recently, many users have been complaining that they do not have time between 9AM-4PM because they have other things to do. I believe that to make it fair for all users, you should be able to buy the stock in some sort of queue when the stock market opens rather than not being able to at all. Any Other Information: I myself have had problems with this. Everyday I have school from 7AM-5PM because I have after school sports that I cannot miss Monday-Friday. I have not been able to buy stocks when I want to due to not having any available time. It is extremely frustrating to me, and disables some users from participating in the stock trader competition. Having also dealt with the SMG (and playing it now) I know what you mean. Unfortunately this would require more-or-less redoing the entire plugin as the way it is set up simply doesn't allow for that. (And we don't control it, so you'd probably have to talk to the plugin dev). It would also require taking the funds out of people's balances up until the time the trade happened then possibly reissuing them. While it's a nice idea that works for the SMG I don't feel as if it would integrate as well here being that, on the SMG, your money is for stocks. Here your money can otherwise be spent on other things. If anything I think having different markets on the stock trader would be cool and fix the problem, however this seems like something that likely won't happen in the near future.
Wasn't this suggested a while ago but denied because of this after-hours exploit? It seems like this is practically the same if it buys the stocks immediately after market reopening...idk though.
I like this because I live in a time zone that makes participation in the current market system impossible.
^ Although I play it through ASX I am currently undergoing a similar experience. I think this suggestion should be aimed more towards those who are asleep during the 9am-4pm period rather than those who are just too busy. As for me in Australia the stocks are open from 12am-7am which are both impossible times for me to be awake, or rather awake and with the ability to make logical decisions. I know it will be hard for this to be implemented but for both reasons states, it has to be done. +1
This, from my knowledge of SMG and Investopedia traders, should not be able to be abused at it would buy as soon as the market opens, which would be 9:30. The only way that this might would be someone placing an order at 9:10 for a stock that was on the rise. But, that 1 day delay seems to be a successful prevention tactic, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I like the idea. +1 if it can be implemented. If not, adding more stock exchanges would be better.
