I would like to start by saying this is quite a long read and i dont even think this would be necessary if it was not for thieves and sorry if this is a repeat post of the idea. I had 13 stacks of redstone dust stolen today by adric_the_great after i won an auction of 17 stacks for 2.8k....."did he not give you the items after you paid" you might ask. The answer would be yes the seller gave me the stacks the seller was not adric_the_great, the seller was uploader2010360 and he did nothing wrong (even suggested to help me report adric_the_great). What adric_the_notsogreat <----see what i did there lolz, what he did was a drive by, he just swooped right in and stole the redstone as the seller was passing me them in spawn , as neither of us had tp donation to go anywhere safe. I have no idea if this is against the server rules as i cant seem to find anything on that issue so i dident report, also the only screenshot i got was of adric holding the redstone, this proves nothing. "Get to the point shifty!" ok ok so my idea was to have an auction house. I gave it a little thought and thought maybe we could have a place where we would have permission to put down chests in spawn and use LWC to /lock and /cmodify the buyer/seller to it and exchange items this way safely. It wouldent be that hard for the server's mod's/admins to make such a building. what do you guys think? do you have better ideas? please leave a reply and +1 this idea if you would like to see it implimented or something along the same lines as this sort of theft is majorly effecting the use of the /auc. Sorry it was so long but needed to get my point accros and sorry for my spelling/gramma, thanks to the great mod's, admins and server owners for bringing us such a great server i love it and will stay here forever. 1. Its not illegal to take items when people throw it on the ground. 2. Giving perms to spawn would be a horrible idea as people could place chests randomly, lock it, and leave it for a few weeks. 3. Even if you don't have TP, you can go to a random portal or a corner of the spawn and trade.
To be perfectly honest I like the idea. Although an auction house has been suggested plenty of times, Andrew can give perms to a certain area of spawn to place chests. Also game admins+ can look in locked chests and remove the locks of any empty chests. It would all be up to andrew to implement his idea however.
@ Lee1104 1. It should be 2. It would only be a specific area, not perms to all spawn, we could use signs maybe to lower the space usage. And take away perms to ppl who leave the signs/chests there. 3. There thieves, they follow you everywhere, they watch /ch auc then wait for stuff to sell and attack, its wrong. 4. I see you have no suggestions, do you like seeing the peaople of this great server robbed? 5. maybe have a limit of been minimum of resident/mayor.
I like this idea. Although you can go through a build portal it is easier just to have an auction house and I hunk it would be a great addition to the server +1
