Since we have lost the LiveMap (I understand the issues and agree that it was for the best to resolve them), there isn't a way to see what the entire world looks like now. It's kind of pointless to build large scale creations if noone can see them Would it be possible to "snapshot" the world (and Aether) every week? every month? Some sort of zoom-able picture that everyone could look at. I'm not suggesting a live update-type thing, just a picture.
A map draw was done before, however the server lagged immensely while it was happening. Since the draw hasn't been released, I doubt that it will be done again in the future.
Yes! There is some map plugin (i forget which one) that would allow you to slow down rendering, so it would only render a chunk every X seconds. This doesn't work for live maps, but for a once-a-month update, might work.
Um, put the server down for 30 minutes or whatever to do map draw? You don't have to do it while everything is running, if we had live map every week/month, 30 minutes of downtime wouldn't bother me, it's a small price to pay.
Well, i had accepted the live map wasn't coming back, but a month/bimonthly draw would be awesome itself
I do think this would great, maybe a weekly or every other weekly draw, but I used the livemap very often and it was very helpful. I think something like this would be great to add and would make up for the removal of the livemap.
