Minecraft Name:Jwpwns Suggestion:Add a casino to spawn. Reason:I know this has been suggested before but this is a new plugin and causes no lag like the old one did i think this would be something to do other than the lottery. This is a economy server how can u not have casinos Link To This Plugin:http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/itemslotmachine/
Well, there are some players who have their own mini casino's, but a server casino would be better, especially with a plugin, as it would work more efficient. Even having the plugin would work better, as players can make their own casino's easier. The problem with the mod in my opinion is that many people will want to make these casino's so there will be too many casino's around so no one will really make money. I would think that just a server casino would be fine
Whilst I think its a great idea, and I would love to try it, it's worth thinking about the people who do put time into making their own casinos in their towns, who would likely be significantly impacted by this. I remember, back when I was a little builder, traveling to a player made casino (I cant remember who's or where it was), but if this was implemented then why would anybody bother visiting a town's casino when you can just /spawn straight to a server casino, which is probably better anyway?
Town casinos would be cheaper so people might use them however i do not see a lot of people even using player casinos or making them a lot any more At least with a server slot machine you cant be scammed or ripped off or have to wait for a player to be at the casino.
Yes they don't seem very common these days. As I said, the last time I went to one I was a builder, which was a loooong time ago, but I suppose there are still some out there. In fact, all this talk of casinos makes me want to make one. Perhaps when I next expand I'll include one. But yes, I do still think this would be a good idea.
Perhaps...it just doesn't really fit with everything else...hardcore economy and all that... And besides, you'd have to make like 200 of em right off or you'll have raging masses trying to get a slot machine and greedy pres's hogging up the machines.
How would this not fit in its a Economy server it would help the economy by taking money out and as far as 200 slot machines i think that is a bit much but like every thing else at first there will be a ton of people.
Hardcore, what happened to hardcore? If lotto wasn't here, people like wikidone wouldn't go from resident to president in 5 seconds. Unfortunately, the lotto is wayyy too popular to get removed, but I'd like to keep any more gambling/lotto stuff out. Andrew is already pushing it by having gambling (kids play here too you know). And what i said was "hardcore economy and all that" And you said "how would this not in its a economy server" I said hardcore before the word economy, don't ignore it.
Then of course, real life economy would have to be hardcore. And atm...real life economy isn't hardcore as it could be. Hardcore is to make it difficult to get money, not make it realistic.
+1 Jason hardcour economy is what we live in, in real life. I know for a fact that there is farms, lottos, mining places and slotmachines. This totally fits in.
Just don't aim to make it real. Aim to make it hardcore. When you look at something real, don't think "hardcore!". Think about it, real or not.
You seem to misunderstand what hardcore means, hardcore means dedicated or die-hard. In that sense Hardcore economy would mean a dedicated economy, which makes perfect sense. It's not about being difficult, but it's not about being easy either, it's about getting an economy that can be sustained and one that works. Parts are to mimic real life economy, and other parts are done to make sure the economy doesn't die, seeing as this is a small and closed off environment where everyone can get the same resources. Therefore making fun, but risky ways of making money are a perfect way of balancing this economy out, as long as it's possible to lose money to the server.
While this may be a great idea, we have lottery. This should satisfy our casino needs for now. I believe andrewkm would have said we do not want EcoCityCraft to revolve around making money through casino's. ECC is hardcore economy.
