Hello, I came up with an idea for a new donation for skyblock, although I understand there could be troubling/trolly uses for it (but since when have we been against trolls wasting money on the server?) Idea - new skyblock donation to set the server weather. While this may seem stupid or useless, fishing is buffed when it is raining. If you could donate (probably a smaller amount of money) to set the weather, either using the built in random timing or maybe for a guarantee of 5 minutes or something? This would help people trying to fish stuff up, or even someone just that tired of rain the make it clear. Also - going along with this idea you could possibly have the option to change the server time maybe? BUT cdl, certain ranks can already do pweather and ptime! That is correct, however ptime and pweather does not affect things based on the server settings (such as the fishing buff or say mob spawning) Again I understand there are many possible trolls associated with this type of donation, but if someone really cares that much to continuously pay irl to keep the server at daytime or sunny or something like that is it really a negative thing?
-1 please dont enable whoever to control the weather for everyone. theres pweather and /or optifine if you dont like the effects and ptime if its too dark for you
This is already there... It's called (SkyBlock) 2 - Elite you can change the time and weather with the following commands once you buy the feature from the ECC Shop: Set the time with: /ptime .- Adjust player's client time. /ptime [list|reset|day|night|dawn|17:30|4pm|4000ticks] [player|*] Aliases: playertime, eplayertime, eptime Set the weather with: /pweather .- Adjust player's weather. /pweather [list|reset|storm|sun|clear] [player|*]
i believe cdl is aware off that and his suggestion goes towards actually influencing the weather / time on the server
@freddyagogo The idea behind this is say you need to get something that you can only get from fishing and would like to make rain so that fishing is better. The time idea was just a realization that its another player controllable thing. And just as you complain that someone can just do /pweather or ptime if they dont like it, they can do this when someone else changed server time or weather. Player side weather and time does not affect the world changes that server side does. IE just because I do /ptime @night, my island will not start spawning mobs
Personally, my one condition for supporting this suggestion is to make /pweather available for everyone instead of Elite+ members. Rain tends to decrease my FPS by 80-90% if I use anything other than default textures for rain. Maybe I'm the only one¹, but so far I've experienced this issue on every single device I ever played Minecraft on (with a wide variety of non-vanilla textures) since rain was introduced in Beta 1.5 back in 2011. I'm (somewhat) fine with having to accept the sudden time changes without being an Elite+, but I'm not really fine with major FPS drops caused by someone who likes rain. ¹ It wouldn't actually surprise me if I am, I've experienced stranger bugs before.
Understandable 314. And I do not think it’s just you I feel I have heard others say rain basically breaks their Minecraft.
I wasn’t really sure. I was trying to remember how boosters worked time/price wise. I think it would need to be cheap but not free obviously
people could just use optifine and deactivate the rain effect altogether. using optifine has a positive impact on performance generally. i still dont like the general idea of having people turn weather on and off at random or make sudden changes to the daytime.
