As convenient as this would be, it's basically just another "useless" mod. Now I only say useless, because of how little impact this would actually have on the server. Players are more than capable of finding safe places to trade, though most are too lazy to actually do so.
Perhaps so, but there would be other cool uses, like as the name applies, for gifting to other users, or, as an example, in a pvp clan, as the clan is "in a grueling battle : D" there potion brewer could mail them the potion's directly.
I played on a server that had something like this. Instead of directly sending the items, both traders would type a command, can't remember exactly but it was like /trade open sick24. This would open a split chest onto the screen. One half of the chest would be for you to put stuff in and the other half for the other player, almost like a donation chest so you couldn't take anything. Then once both users have put in the thing they want you would simply close the chest, it would prompt you if you wanted to accept the trade then you would type either /trade accept or /trade decline. I would be happy putting this in a formal suggestion if you guys think it is right. EDIT: Meh ill put it in its own suggestion when I got the time
