[Suggestion] Shouts/Sg Messages

As for your suggestion on sg messages i agree. I really do dislike being spammed with sg messages, and hope that we can get a command like /lot messages.

 

My belief on the whole shout matter has been placed in the other recent suggestion about the ability to ignore shouts.

I'm curious as to why it would matter if the shout was from staff, because important messages would go through the alert system.

 

There are two main reasons shouting is the way it is: 1) To take money out of the economy 2) So USERS are able to bring something, whatever it is, to all the users' attention.

With the power to "/ch leave shout" I would think there would be less players using "/shout" which would keep more money in the ECC economy.

 

You're a donor, you should be able to leave all the chat channels and still retain ability use. Just /ch leave [channel] for all the channels you happen to be in.

 

I agree with the SG part, not the shout part. How can I annoy people if I cannot shout?

 

Shouts are not meant to be blocked.

The problem with SG is that it spams around 3, decently sized messages when someone wins. It should be changed to: "Player won arena _____ with (number) kill(s)."

 

But the point is people shout so everyone can hear/see what the shouter wants to say. Without everyone having to hear/see what a person shouts people will less likely spend 1k. In turn less money will be taken out of the economy.

 

...that's not related to what I said. I was stating a fact, not making a suggestion.

 

I agree with you on the SG messages, but I believe the shouts should stay. The only reason being is due to it costing the user 1k to shout.

If we can't turn off the messages, I wouldn't mind them being shortened to one line.

 

The one line thing doesn't bother me, I can annoy people with one word. So it's a fair proposition.

 

Remove sg.. I've been asking for this for a while and have a few suggestions about it FYI

All for SG message removal, but not for shout. People pay to have a message seen by everyone - that is literally one of the main reasons why people use shout. Being able to turn off shout messages would completely ruin that purpose, and therefore shout, as well as taking out a great money dump.

SG messages are just annoying, especially when people boost or it's on-peak and a lot of games are happening. So having the ability to turn those off would be nice.

 

Why not just remove the whole /shout command?
