Thread Title: Re-doing the SG rewards/permissions to allow a slightly rewards system and environment. Minecraft Name: sick24 Suggestion: A major overhaul of the SG rewards / SG kit system. Create a set of arenas that are "Tier 1." In these arenas, no kits are allowed (possibly vsg if you desire to add it in), only items may be gathered from chests so as to create a 'true survival games' environment. Rewards from this arena include $75 per kill, $100 per original user if you win, and $75 per kill if you win. "Tier 2" of arenas would include the SG rewards that we have now: $100 per kill, $125 per original user if you win, and an additional $150 per kill if you win. However, in this tier, only $20 or under kits (or some different restriction) are allowed so kitters still have an advantage, but no one would have a huge advantage. The final tier, "Tier 3," would have upgraded earnings: (estimates) $125 per kill, $175 per original user if you win, and $175 per kill if you win. As well, there would be no kit limitation placed upon users in these arenas. Reason: With this, I attempt to address some users' desire for a 'true' and fair SG environment, while giving a further incentive for players to donate for kits since you could get a higher reward. Other Information: I'm not sure how much coding this would take, but I truly hope that you could overlook, at first, the work required to implement this. I believe that many users would be happy with this change. Link to this plugin: Our current SG plugin
Everyone would just play in tier 3 even those without kits. If you don't have kits it isn't hard to get a few quick easy kills off spawn. You would get more money for that than wining a tier 1 game
Are there so many games with wait times that splitting up the community into different tiers is feasible? When I'm on I commonly see requests for people to join SG. This leads me to believe that by splitting up SG into tiers, you will have less people per game. I'm not saying exactly what I mean, but I think you understand my concern.
I like it but personally tier 2 games should be $15 and under as Miq is the only kits you are ruling out when saying $20 and under... Buffer is the one the really would screw up those games not Miq.
Letting non supporters have a better chance to win seems like a good thing for the server to me. I personally have seen players new to the server join, play some sg because it helped draw them to the server, then promptly quit due to its perceived unfairness to non supporters. 100% support an idea like this. Let the new users have their moment to shine!
I do not believe everyone would play the top level including those without kits. I have kits and I would still rather play a true gs game without any. I only got kits because I was tired of not even having a chance. And unless I get a lot more kits I still will not have a chance. I say if anything it should be split kits and no kit games. 3 maybe 4 maps for each. I do not feel all of the current maps are really used much.
What I'm about to say may have been suggested before, but, if SG is going to be restructured, I say we have the least 4 popular maps kit free, and the top 4 most popular maps allow kits. Because non-kit users would still play in the top 4 most popular maps because.. well... the least 4 popular maps suck. This is just an idea that arose in my head directly after reading your post. Just my opinion. Feel free to speak otherwise.
I like It but the only thing I would say is that the money reward system be flipped. Tier 3 is $75 and Tier 1 is $125. +1
sick24 This is an interesting idea that certainly addresses some recent concerns over non-donator vs donator benefits, while maintaining strong credence for donating. I also see what Emau and others saying. The end result may just be that some arenas are left vacant. However I do think that sometimes people want to test skills without kits... Hmm. There is not harm in trying and seeing what happens right? If it doesn't do well, could the old system be reimplimented without a lot of headaches?
We could minimize the amount of arenas for each tier and use the popular ones which I'd say is 2, 3, 4 and maybe #1 in a map building contest!
+1 like many have stated divided can be good to give non-kitters a chance. I think also like others have said that if this is to be done, 2 tiers - kits/no kits. We should as a server hold an arena making competition to make arenas for a new SG. Like the spawn building contest, andrewkm and other predetermined help that he chooses can go through the maps that are submitted. In the meantime, all users of the server can vote for which of the current 8 we like most (pick your favorite to prevent voting more than once). The top 3 from there can then be used, along with 3 user-made ones to total up as 6 SG arenas. 3 for non-kitting games, 3 for kitting games.
It should just be "Legacy SG"- Back when there were no kits and economic impact and "New SG"- kits and economic impact. Don't want kits? Fine, play sg for no money.
+1, I would love to see this implemented. Seems very interesting and very useful for players of any rank and any donation features.
