Minecraft Name: BuyLowSeIIHigh Suggestion: Set a maximum limit of tix you can buy with a single command, the limit being the current pot size. Reason: I don't play much lotto, I throw a ticket here and there, sometimes 2-3.. so nothing major. But I have noticed the sniping. It is 2 seconds before lotto end, there has been a battle between 2-3 guys in lot msg-s, in comes random X and buys 200 tickets, KO. Now I wanna make this clear that I don't think this is unfair, or anything. Lotto is good as it is, I am just tossing this in to suggest maybe a change that could make lotto more unpredictable, and exciting for the thrill seekers. First an assumption: The sniper has not bought any tickets during the lotto, he sits back and only snipes the given amounts. (This is the only sensible way if you try to win the odds) If you follow pure statistics, which I love, then limiting the amount of tix you can buy to the current pot size, means that your chances would never exceed 50%. I know that lotto is very important for ECC to function properly, I have no idea how this suggestion would impact the popularity of lotto. I guess that can bee seen from the responses. But I think coming in 2 second before the bell with 200 tix when the pot is 100 is boring, and cowardly. Of course you can always lose the 200 tix, but keep in mind this is a game of chance. Chance can be manipulated. Coming into 100 tix lotto with a 200 snipe gives you a chance of 62.9% to win the plot. While you may lose, more than 6 out of 10 times you will win. The costs in this case would be 4x170 in losses = 680 and add the tax (I think it was 15%.. ?) 30x10 = 980 tix, while the winnings would be 600 tix. So not to include tax you would be 80 down. Ok, this was not a good example, I just used round numbers and didn't check before hand. But notice one thing, the snipe is only 2 times the pot and you are already not too far away of making an actual, 'guaranteed' profit when repeated long enough. The snipes are often more than 2 times the plot. Who is eager can find how many times the snipe has to be over the pot size for the chances to start favoring you. Again, nothing wrong with that. Ride them horses they give you cowboys! But yeah.. I hope some of you can see how correlating the max tix purchase to current plot may bring some very interesting changes. Any Other Information: No idea if this is even technically possible.. it should be. But it sure will be very difficult for the sniper to catch the exact amount which he can buy. Which is one of the things why this makes lotto more interesting. Another thing- snipe will be mostly affordable, limited amount that cannot be exceeded at current time. You may start getting more snipers testing their luck on getting the plot, making lotto more popular. Also if you have bought lotto tix through the whole lotto and decide to add a snipe at the end, this suggestion would add spice to the situation. Link To This Plugin: - Thx for your time

You misunderstood (didn't read) the suggestion and the impact of these changes are unknown to you. Therefore how do you assume this will reduce the money withdrawn from the economy? PS! Call me a communist again and I will find you and I will kill you! (Quote )
Hm, I'm in the middle with this suggestion. I like the concept, but I don't think those who have "a lot of money" would be happy if this was implemented.
3 things about this... 1. How many tickets would you be able to buy if the pot is 0$? 2. Wait for 50k pot, /pt lot buy 50, spam powertool 4 times at 1 second left. 3. If 2. was to be forbidden, there would be less pots going this high because nobody could snipe with absurd amounts of tickets. As I usually love to say at this kind of suggestions, lotto is simply taking out lots of the economy, about as much as /sell inputs.
Hmm well there should me a minimum level until when this ticket cap doesn't apply. This would need some calculus (which I would love to do if that becomes necessary) for it to be the most effective, but now I would suggest 50 tickets as of when this cap takes effect. Under 50 lottos are not very attractive anyways. With the second point I have no problems with. That's what I wanted to answer to Vintage's post about how heavy hitters may not be too happy. Just macro the heck out of it. But the point is that you will need to use a bit more effort, not just hit plot+250% in your calc and /lot buy. Sure this makes beating the odds more difficult- that was the original suggestion. But this may attract more players to lotto. Third point- I mentioned in the very beginning that I know how important lotto is to ECC. And the last thing I want is for lotto to remove less money from the economy than it does now. I also mentioned I do not know what kind of effect this may have on the popularity of lotto. The way I see it, this may encourage smaller players to hit bigger in lotto. Making the withdrawal of money more spread out and effective, because before it was only the kingpins who payed the taxes. In the other hand, there is a possibility that this would make lotto less popular and the overall withdrawal from the economy decreases. I don't see why this should discourage kingpins to spend big and play their games in lotto. If a person really likes a thrill, this suggestion would allow even more mind games.
