Everything is currently up to the opinion of individual staff members. There should be a set limit (10 in a row per minute).
Not Sure If this is possible but for shout spam, instead of having a length of 10 make the cost go up the more u spam it Example: First 5 spammed Cost: 1k Second 5: Cost: 1.5k Third 5 Cost: 2k Fourth 5 Cost 2.5k Ect. This way: 5 spammed shouts would be the same 5k 10 would be a slightly increased $12,500 instead of 10k 20 would cost 35k instead of 20k Spamming Shouts would soon become extremly expensive: 30 shouts would cost almost 70k instead of 30k 40 shouts would be 110k 50 shouts would be 162.5k Now im not sure this is possible and even if it is It would probably be way too much work and a waste of resources but I thought id just throw in my 2 cents. - I like the limit of 10 btw so +1
Well, the rules say it's legal, but there is a limit. Rarely, that limit is reached. Some people seem like they spend 100k in shouts, which is annoying. I guess Andrew didn't think people would be wasting money like that.
-1. I trust staff to make decisions for us. And it's often a case by case basis. Ie. Is there a conversation in global, how spammy is it, What is the shout... The moment we set a fine line is the moment it become exploitable. We need to just let staff do the job they were chosen to do.
Usually what staff does to handle this situation is if the shouts spam the entire chat box, then it's deemed excessive. Additionally, if they try to get around the rule by continuously doing it in short bursts, it's also deemed as excessive.
