Minecraft Name: MaxToMinimum Suggestion: I am suggesting that by using the /sell command that you can sell ores. Prices below Reason: Frankly I am too lazy to Fortune ores, also this will put less money into the economy. Any Other Information: Prices: Theses will be determined by the drop rate of the ore without Fortune 3. Coal Ore: Coal ore should be sold for $1.00 Iron Ore: Iron Ore should be sold for $7.00 Redstone Ore: Redstone Ore should be sold for $6.75 Lapis Lazuli Ore: Lapis Ore should be sold for $22.5 Diamond Ore: Diamond ore should be sold for $25 Emerald Ore: Unless Emeralds will be able to be sold with the /sell command I do not believe that we should be able to sell Emerald Ore I got the prices by going on the Minecraft forums and seeing how much the ores drop when mined by a regular pickaxe. I then took the average between the 2 numbers and multiplied it by how much one of the ingot is. Example: I took Redstone, it drops 4-5 redstone dust if you mine it with a pick that is not enchanted with fortune. I took the middle of 4-5 (Which is 4.5) so I took 4.5 x 1.5 (Which is the server price for one redstone dust) and I got $6.75. The one big part about this is that you will make much more by actually fortuning the ores, so if you are really lazy you could /sell your ores but make much less money Link To This Plugin: Already have the /sell command
I would be interested to know why ores cannot be sold via /sell, as I never remember a time when they were. If someone knows, would you kindly quote my post and answer? It would also likely aid people with their opinion on this suggestion.
I am assuming that ores are one of the several prices that can be controlled by the player market, not by the server.
Ok, here's my take on this suggestion. 1st of all, those prices are incredibly low, and no one would follow them. The idea of adding something, but making the price so low is completely useless because no one would follow the suggestion. With this case, the player market has such a higher demand for ores, thats it's literally double for every ore, and no one would use this, so why add it? Also, if we did raise the prices to make them reasonable ( @thehockeykids2 this is the real answer to your question), Eff 7's would become way to OP. The one thing that keeps Eff 7's from breaking the economy is that you have to fortune, and sell your items to player shops. If you could just sell the ores, not only is it making Eff 7's make too much money, but it's also breaking the economy, which is already too inflated. The player market is what we want to thrive the most. It prevents money from being "printed", and keeps our server's well known reputation of having the best economy out there. Trading is great, and we want it to happen. If people start selling ores to the server, the Exp market will sky rocket. It's a domino affect for new players. The reason we added mining Exp was to lower the cost of Exp, so new players would be able to get enchanted tools and thrive. If there is less Exp, the prices will shoot out of control, and new players can no longer to get their tools. If you're really not up for fortuning, sell your ores to the market, Station25 buys them.
TLDR, but i did read a little. -1 on sugestion. I like to do /sell all on my invintory, and keep all my silk ores.
-1 Just use a regular pick on the coal, redstone, lapis, & diamond. Then you can sell them at the prices you list. Or to put it another way, don't use a silk pick and you won't have to re-mine them to sell them to the server.
-1 It would possibly increase eff7 profits, if the user could power tool /sell (item ore) to the ore. No time needed fortuning/selling at shops.
I think @Iticip hit the nail on the head with his post. Not being able to /sell ores helps considerably to balance out the speed of mining with an eff 7. I like the fact that you have to fortune them or sell them to other players. It encourages trading which is always a good thing.
-1 I still think this would be a good idea if it could be implemented properly but i see the point the eff7 can abuse this to get more money.
Eff7's would be massively over powered. Unless they sell for like $0.50 an ore or something ridiculously low, this won't happen. -1
