Minecraft Name: jcc00 Suggestion:I think there should be a slight change in the rollback policy. I completely agree with the $7500 limit, however I think there should be another factor. Possibly, there could be a block limit, such as let's say 150 griefed blocks. Reason:It would resolve a lot of conflict and please many users. Any Other Information: N/A Link To This Plugin: N/A
I agree, because there are other factors to consider besides just the dollar value of what is broken. When i build something, i take a lot of time deciding exactly how i want it to look. There is a lot of thought and time invested in the build, even if the blocks are cheap. for example, ihave a 200x200 baseball stadium. it is mostly made out of smooth stone, but it took me weeks of work to design it to look good. Someone could grief several thousand blocks of it and I would get no rollback - that doesn't seem right.
Tanstaafl gives a great example... I would like to see something of the sort added to rollback policies about a number of blocks warranting a rollback (when requested). Just as it can take time to make money for valuable blocks, it can take time to build amazing things with cheaper blocks. :/
I agree with these points of view. There should also be a rollback policy which includes number of blocks destroyed, rather than just the aggregated value. Many people, especially those fully dedicated to building, spend a lot of time making wonderful creations. Nobody wants their hard work being thrown to the trash by some newcomer who doesn't even care about the server, and will still have a chance to appeal if banned. Another thing to take in mind regarding Rollbacks is that, to be honest, very few people use the 'expensive' blocks (Gold, Diamonds, Emeralds) to build large constructions, and even if they do, with the new server price given to diamonds, $135 a block, they would need at least 56 blocks to be eligible for the rollback, which in the user-user market nowadays are worth around $20,000.
I agree, although it depends on the situation, EG: a dirt has has been completely grefied wont deserve a rollback but if a castle or a pixel art structure has been greifed then it should. - xOSneakyNinjaOx
same here: +1 for adding number of blocks. I've built quite a few things that would not reach the money limit... but took a lot of time to make.
There used to be a rule for rollbacks that it had to be above a certain amount of money or an extensive amount of blocks destroyed. I'm not exactly sure why this was removed...(if it was, I'm on my iPod and can't really check right now).
There are rules for what defines a 'major' grief, beyond the price limit, and location of grief (main world/aether), though these rules are kept within staff documents and threads, seeing as how we are the ones to administer to them. While I can understand this suggestion, and that some truly awesome buildings can be made well under the $7500 acknowledged value for a pretty much guaranteed rollback, I think it is unlikely that information like this will be added to public record.
There is a possibility of an actually intelligent griefer, who would see the price/block limit and break just under that.
I think there should defiantly be a block limit. Someone can go around and destroy 4k stone bricks in a town and escape a rollback even though the town is completely destroyed. +1
Well if they only broke 149 blocks then they would be banned and the damage could be easily repaired so it doesn't matter
