Minecraft Name: goblizz Suggestion: Add the McMMO Repair and its child skill, Salvaging. Reason: The first thought I had when looking at McMMO was the fact that there was not repair. Repair is a skill in McMMO, for those who do not know, is used for the repairing of items such as tools, weapons, and armor. To use McMMO Repair, you must have the item you want to Repair in your hand with the item it is made with in your inventory. (i.e. Diamond Pickaxe in your hand, and Diamonds in your inventory.) To repair items, you right click on a placed iron block and the item will repair durability. Now, why would this be of any resource to players who have ExtCommands+ (or ++ for that matter)? At level 600 Repair, a child skill is unlocked called "Salvaging". By right-clicking on a block of gold with in item like Leather Armor, Gold tools, or something of the sort, the item which the tool is made of is dropped and returned back to you (i.e. a Gold Pickaxe would return you 3 gold ingots with full durability and a high Repair Skill. Just looking at the idea brings up a few questions I feel that might end up having to be addressed later. 1. What about the people with ExtCommands+? Anyone with a high repair skill could easily repair enchanted items and destroy the market! To answer this, it would not. By using ExtCommands+, a user has a 100% guaranteed chance that their item will be repaired with no loss of enchantment power. A user with Repair 1000 would have a 60% chance, at the very bets. Therefore, the obvious choice would to be to choose an ExtCommands user for repairs. If people then decide not too, a piece of armor or tool could come out of the economy by loss of enchants, something which wouldn't be very bad because of the EXP market at the moment. 2. Wouldn't this defeat the point of buying ExtCommands? It likely wouldn't. ExtCommands as many other perks besides /repair on non-enchanted items, such as /enderchest and Powertools. Plus, with ExtCommands, you can repair picks without the use of items, versus repair, which still requires the item which the tool/armor is built with to repair. 3. Well, why would anyone want to level up Repair when they could go out and buy ExtCommands+? Yes, you can do that. That would be the equivalent for buying McMMO levels for Repair. The main reason I see repair being useful is the salvaging skill unlocked at level 600. Currently, the markets for gold, iron, and leather armor are absolutely dead. With people getting to the 600 repair skill, the items could be broken down into their original form, and provide an opportunity for McMMO grinders to make a lot of money. 4. Can't McMMO repair be abused to AFK autofish? Not on ECC. Many Repair AutoGrinders required redstone and pistons, something which would create noticeable lag (if anyone remembers the redstone clock thing during the summer, you'll know what I mean). That, combined with the obvious spotting of AFK fishers by lots of helpful staff and other people, Repair would be nearly impossible to autogrind via fishing on ECC. (I will add more as things come along.) Any Other Information: All change that is needed is some coding in the McMMO files to adjust the EXP and enable the skill, and a restart or two to implement it. Link To This Plugin: McMMO This was just something that I though of off of the top of my head. If my reasoning is wrong, or something is not correct, feel free to comment below. All that I ask is no flaming or trolling, and we'll all be good.
Seems like a totally awesome idea! Has pro/cons just like everything, but the exp market could use it!
I like the idea except for the fact if I'm running around at spawn and right click an iron block with my pick, one of my enchants are gone, if there could be a confirmation for repairing, that'd be great.
Added a new question to the Q/A section after watching YouTube. Thanks to all who are in support of the suggestion!
No pistons on ecc Which is a good thing lol +1 But I do think that it may have to be tweaked a bit so that ExtCommands+ is still more worth buying than simply training repair. A low chance of repair doesn't cut it IMO
+1, here is my reasoning. Ok, yes, I have extcommands++ but this skill would be honestly awesome to have. Salvaging would be pretty fun to try and achieve and one more mcmmo skill never hurt anyone. This would also give us another skill to train to achieve that 9001+ mcmmo medal which is a very hard medal to earn. Salvaging would be awesome for all those users who can't spare the irl money to buy extcommands/+/++ and don't want to buy e-repairs all the time. Also, it is another skill that can't be auto-trained which is something the staff wouldn't have to be worried about in contrast of this skill and the some of the others. I personally am all for this as there is nothing wrong with it, nothing too over-powered, and gives a variety of skills to train and throws in an interesting one that I'd personally train a lot to be the first to 2000! That's basically my 5 cents - Thanks, ~Donkey5k
Well... I don't think it really matters, paying the same amount. If you could only repair non-enchanted items as a non-donator maybe McMMO repair could be added to ExtCommands but with a max 40% chance of a repair (for enchanted stuff), but you can buy ExtCommands+ in order to simply do a command repair. If we did it this way I think the $30 and $70 could work.
