Username: Netsui Suggestion: Removal of the Forum Games section of the forum. Reason: The forum game section has become nothing but a spam fest of "who can spam the most time before x happens, then spam more after x happens in anticipation of when x happens again." It has happened in the past when the forum game section was being abused for spamming posts(counting threads) that the threads people were using were removed. The cycle of this spam just repeats itself indefinitely, and will continue to do so as long as the section exists. Other information: Another possibility for this would be to place rule against those type of "Forum games" to prevent people using them for hyper boosting their post counts. Additionally the ones that will speak out against this suggestion are more likely than not the people that use that section for spamming the most. Link to this Plugin: n/a
I don't ever use that thread, so nothing that goes on in it effects me. Not to mention if people want to spam, I'd personally prefer it to be there than anywhere else on our forums.
I don't care about post count, if people like to get their post count up like that, so be it. If it were possible to disable post count in that section, I'd be all for it, but not for removing it.
I seem to have missed the part about the post count. I for one agree with Kuke about disabling post count in that thread if it were possible.
I've suggested disabling post count in that area before, and Andrew denied it (more than once, I think). He has some reason for keeping post count enabled there, but he never said what that reason was. So, if post count can't be disabled there, I would like to see the subforum go away, or at least get monthly cleaning.
I agree with Moofink. A month cleaning would be a good idea. It would help save up room on the forum, which I'm pretty sure has a limit of space. It would also discourage players using it to up post count.
With the addition of the trophies, the forum games section is more than likely going to see an increase in people posting and rating each other to boost up their points. So i'd like to see it go to prevent people from doing just that.
Forum games and Staff-handled apps produce a lot of posts (and even ratings). Forum games alone will be abused, though. I'd suggest disabling post count in that section, rather than removing the section (same with Staff-handled stuff...even Staff get competitive, lol). Seems I have posted here before, so I suppose that still counts in my mind, too.
