Minecraft Name: 3point14mp Suggestion: Remove /ci shortcut so that only /clearinventory can be used, or add a descriptive second confirmation command to confirm the clearing of your inventory. Reason: /ci is a powerful command. It removes your entire inventory of items with a couplesimple keyboard strokes. Yet looking at /ci without any knowledge of the command, one would not be able to decipher what the function of the command is. It is also a two character command, making it relatively easy to accidently type it. People might even type it out of curiousity. However, /clearinventory is the longer, self-explanatory, and safer command to remove your items. Since /ci may be forgotten about if not normally used by a player, they might also become unaware of what it does. It also usually wouldn't be used often, so typing out /clearinventory is really does not take much extra effort. This is why I suggest it to be removed, leaving /clearinventory as the command to use instead. Another option would be to keep /ci, but instead add a confirmation command to the clear inventory procedure instead. For example, one could type /ci and then note a message such as, "Are you sure you want to clear out your inventory? You will not be able to retrieve any lost items. Type /ciconfirm to confirm or /cideny to deny inventory clear." In this way, people who accidently use the clear inventory command will be able to revoke their request, saving their inventory's worth in the process, and people who actually want to use /ci will simply take an extra second or two to type the confirmation command. Any Other Information: I bring this up because there have been instances where people have accidently used the /ci command and lose everything in their inventory. For example, a couple months ago I lost my PvP gear using the /ci command since I forgot what the command was for, and tried to test it out. Recently another user has lost their melon sword typing /ci while trying to clear out some other junk, and the extra step to confirm might have saved them from wiping their melon sword from their inventory. The command is intended as an admin command, for people who can spawn items and such. Essentials won't modify their own code because of in-game user related issues for this reason, but our server owner has the option to configure the command for in game needs, since donators of Ext Commands have access to the command, not just admins.
Although I have never lost anything from /ci (*knocks on wood*) I have heard these horror stories about players. I would really love to see one of two happen: 1. The complete removal of /ci 2. Turn /ci into /sell all so you cant sell picks/swords and other unsellable items that may actually be worth a lot of money.
