[Suggestion] Ratings

no, you cannot combat rating trolling.
probably the only way to combat rating trolling be to add a negative rating but I guess that won't happen

it's less hurtful to call someone's appeal or application funny rather than creative though

 

There's been multiple suggestions for this... In the end, we might as well remove every rating except Like, or leave it how it is. It will end up with a chain of removing ratings (new ratings will take on the role of "trolling"), or possibly causing even more unhappiness by adding Funny back.

 

If you get mad onward don't usec forums it's been suggested a numerous amount of times and won't change

 

Here is my take on "trolly" ratings:

When someone dubs me with a creative, and I know what their thinking, I just try and ignore it. People who do those ratings are literally admitting they are a troll. They are telling us "I have a bad attitude, I am insecure, and I am not beneficial for the server." There are many things that are actually creative or funny, and I would 'love to give rating to those. I know, as hard as we try, there will always be that group of trolls that all the serious people think are "stinking up the joint".

As for this suggestion, I would actually love to see the funny rating brought back. There are indeed somethings I see on the forums I actually think are funny, and I want to give that person a funny rating for. However, I don't think we can get rid of the creative rating, because trolls will then resort to the Useful rating, which could be the worst of all.

Bring back the Funny and ignore trolls; they are a waste of our time.

I agree with MoofinK. I think that if creative is removed, then a new rating will take its place. To the point that there are few, if any, ratings.

One a side note, whenever someone rates me creative I just think 'Well that's another one to the total!'

Logic. Ironic you say that. Let's recap what I responded to and highlight the important bits.

This suggestion is 2 things, either bring back the funny rating or remove the creative rating.

You say the creative rating won't be removed, so what would the other choice be? GET THE FUNNY RATING BACK.

Logically, in an OR statement, if you take one option away, the other remains. It's literally logic. But I guess that's too difficult for you to understand. :b

Removing the creative rating would do nothing. Trolls would just go on to useful. After useful, informative, it is an endless cycle until all ratings are gone.

Just because I pushed a button on the forums doesn't mean that I am not beneficial to the server. I have donated over $1300 USD to the server. Seems pretty beneficial to me.

Yes my point is creative ratings won't be removed that's all im saying your turning this into a fight over my opinion which I don't know why...

 

But this suggestion is OR, you're only saying one thing, but you're completely ignoring the other option in this suggestion.
