Thread Title: People are able to come and go into the pvp arena, and are not committed to fight. Minecraft Name: ruffneck50 Suggestion: I think a creative idea would be to create a time to where your allowed to leave and re-enter the pvp arena. I have had many losses from people just walking in, hitting me, walking out, and then repeating the process over and over. I think it wastes peoples time when they want to actually fight and win. We could also make it a bigger arena, so that people take more than 3 seconds to cross the arena (width-wise). Otherwise, pvp is almost a pointless event, as the evidence of it being almost abandoned shows. I would like to see something done about this, even if it is a slight change. Thank you. Reason: I think it's a smart idea because pvp is a barren wasteland, an amazing event put to punishment, and I'd like to see it grow and thrive in the future, I would like to see it be something people use for more than collecting player heads. It has plenty of potential, and should shine. It would also give many people something to do if Survival Games bores them, or maybe farming isn't their forte (specialty). Many people go into the arenas simply to straddle the line as well as to run into the arena, punch someone, and then quickly run out of the arena. I believe the intention of this suggestion would be to require players to stay in long enough to actually fight each other.

+1 it is annoying when spawn campers hit from the side and run back out too bad pvp is already dead so i dont think this will be implemented the new pvp arenas ruined pvp arena1,2,4 look good but they arent good for actually pvping the only decent one for pvp is arena 3
I don't mean to be the one to stand out, but let me give a few reasons why this shouldn't be added. 1) we JUST had a pvp arena competition. 2) What about PvP arenas in towns? There are a few towns that are completely PvP 3) If you are PvP'ing in a town PvP arena, then what about tp'ing out? 4) You can prevent this by inviting users to a pvp arena that has no escape. (Other than Tp'ing out) 5) I don't know how you would link this with worldguard, but im sure it could be done.
I've suggested this before, but we just need to make the pvp arenas difficult to exit. For example, putting the entrance in a 2-block pit so that once you jump in, you stay in.
This would not work in the PvP world, because once you are in, theres no way out. You can't tp out of the arena.
Well, one could just make the exit elsewhere. There are quite a few ways to make one-way doors or paths; as long as getting in and out is a little harder than walking back and forth between two blocks. You could even provide one or two blocks to make an easy parkour out. It just has to be difficult enough to prevent this hopping back and forth.
This is interesting, I like the idea but, it really can't be implemented. 1. Is there a code already out there that is able to do this? Or do we have to code it ourselves? 2. This is a player strategy, similar to PvP logging, it's very difficult to implement. 3. You enter a PvP arena at your own risk, if you don't like when this happens, don't PvP. Simple as that. Knears pretty much summed up what I was thinking. Dont like the current public arenas? great, make your own in your own town.
You really don't see many people PvPing anymore. I think this would be a good suggestion because of it, making PvP better that people that still do play.
