why should pumpkins make twice as much as the rest?

pumpkins should go back to .50 they make nothing now i cant figure out why they where lowered.

 

All farming prices were lowered, pumpkins just a bit more because it doesn't require crazy expensive tool.

 

Yes but even when it was .50 they didn't make a fortune but now its not even worth farming pumpkins.

 

It was basically the top crop before the price changes, about the same as melons.
Now it's below melons and such.

 

Pumpkins used to make the same if not more than melons the supposed-to-be superior crop. So, andrew made melons superior, like they were supposed to be.

 

Andrew recently lowered the prices for a reason. He's not going to suddenly raise the price because you bought a pumpkin axe

 

I personally believe pumpkins should be $50 a piece. Why should we have to work for money. We should be able to make a million an hour!

 

I think pumpkins should be raised to $0.45. Andrew said he was cutting the prices 10%, but cutting down to $0.40 is a 20% cut. Melons were cut 11%, so they are fine where they are. Also, is the fate of prices on this server just to be cut and cut until everything is worth mere pennies if that? Just curious.

 

The fate of prices is to keep the server running. I personally have seen servers where the economy is so inflated a diamond is so expensive the number has 30 zeros. Andrew doesn't want the economy to become so inflated ecodollars become worthless. Imagine an ecc with diamonds at $100000 each and nstars at an average of $10000000 each? Imagine a giftcard being 1,000,000,000,000 ecd. The server would die in horrible burning agony. Now you understand why prices were lowered.

The reason pumpkins were lowered at a higher percentage than melons is because andrew wants melons to be a superior crop, since the tool they are farmed with costs 1500 netherstars.

The reason he does this is exactly what you mentioned at the end. He keeps it balanced so there is no solid brick wall between poor and rich- you can get from rags to riches if you work hard enough, just like the real world.

 

The economy was heading that way though. Andrew has told us that he keeps a very close eye on the money which goes into and out of the server and so I trust that he is making the coronet judgement.

With regards to your point, the economy wasn't inflating because prices were being raised. The economy was inflating with prices remaining the same because there was more money entering the economy through selling to the server than was being taken out of the economy through purchasing ranks etc. That's why the prices were dropped to try and balance this. The auctions for the new spawn towns also helps in this.

 

bluecody12 I am not becoming richer. I could sit almost ask and make 15k/hour with a melon sword, with the recent changes I can't do that anymore and I have turned to mining and SG to make my money. What monkey said, you can go from rich to poor in less then a month As a builder if you work hard.

 

I sold my melon sword the second that melons dropped. Typically you should farm coco beans with water, more profit.

 

The thing with farming, mining whatever way to make money. Find the way that works best for you. If you can't farm melons, try something else, or try mining. Everything makes a decent amount of money, you just need to work toward being able to make good money. It's not something you can do right away.
As a builder I had to build up my fortune (and money making was twice as slow as it is now) and I could do that even when I only played for 1-2 hours a day spending most of my time messing around (I didn't really know how minecraft worked back then)

Right now the top crops are melons and wheat, melons require a melonsword and is really slowpaced and relaxed. Wheat requires a high herbalism, fly, a hoe+fort3 tool and mcmmobonusplus donations to be slightly above melons. (ever so slightly)

If you can't farm the top crops, do something else. You're not limited to farming and not making 15k an hour is not the end, I can easily make money by just playing sg. I bought my miq kit with money I made from sg. It took me a weekend to make 90k to pay for it.

And I've seen people say they simply don't have time for farming a lot or making money, well, time is something you absolutely require to make money through conventional methods, the only method that doesn't require time is selling donation features.

What I'm trying to say is.. making money is easy, it just takes time. If you don't have the time to make money, then you can't make money. Making money is by no means difficult, it just depends on what you do, how you do it and how long you do it for.

Yeh.. that was the point I was trying to make.. I lost my own train of thought while writing so it may seem a bit messy.
