Reason: It allows for easy access of newer or more active towns, as well as pretty towns that owners want to show off. Both of these help appeal to newer players, as opposed to mega-Goliath portal room with mostly inactive towns easily accessible. Plus it's a money sink. Any Other Information: Yes, I suggested a similar thing on somebody else's suggestion for something somewhat related. I can't find it so here I am. This is the general layout idea I have (pardon terrible sketch work). The idea is once you go into the towns area, you go through here first, and can continue to the normal towns room. Feature Portals A & B can be auctioned monthly or however to the highest bidder, and the other 8 be first come first serve monthly rental, similar to spawn-shops. If demand did become a more serious issue they could be auctioned as well. The design should be able to be expanded on increased demand. I would suggest a base price of 5k for 1 month. As well some basic rules for them: 1 per person Must already have spawn-town portal Must be official owner, as stated on town app Now, I know there were some dissents so here is what I can think of: "I already paid for my portal, I shouldn't have to again." You don't. You just won't gain the benefits of having a great portal. "First floor portals will be devalued" First floor portals aren't anything special. I can see the argument for Emerald row portals on any floor but those locations are still great. You'd keep an easy to access portal without having to pay monthly. Link To This Plugin:
I'm fine with this but I don't like the idea that only original owner can apply for this. +1 to everything else though.
What would be better? Ideally only the 2 portals I listed would be auctioned, simply to counter the rest being sniped as soon as possible. (And be a further money dump, of course)
Tbh, we already sorta have 1 with the ecc hof or w/e for the features towns. Towns get featured once a century because no1 runs it, but it exists/could be updated
This might not be better, but it's just another thing to consider for those who don't like auctions. Maybe have it be like the spawn shops. There's an initial auction, but then you have to pay some sort of weekly rent. You'd also be able to transfer these to other players by selling them submitting another app. It would still be a money sink to an extent because of the weekly rent and the initial auction.
I think that you should have only one for a month at a time, and then you must wait a month and after that you are able to purchase or obtain another, as this would maximize town variety in the portal room because there couldn't be a few people that have the portals forever because they are rich. There should be no rental. Every month a different person pays for the shop, whether by auction or however method they would be sold at, but after that the person that had it before has to wait another month.
