Suggestion: Once all features are changed over to 15k per USD, adjust the price of water to 0k per USD.

Reason: As it currently stands, Water for purchase is a big turnoff to new users. It really sets the tone for ECC as pay-to-win, and I've seen many people get frustrated with the fact that they can't place Water. This is especially so now that SG has declined; Water has - from my observations - overtaken kits and the "factions tag" as reasons to quit.

Let's be honest, I was frustrated too. Not being able to build my own potato farm for food or use water to get obsidian was confusing to me. Obviously I'm here, so I dedicated the time to figure out how to purchase water without spending money. But it wasn't easy; grinding pumpkins isn't exactly the fastest source of money. A ripped mining world much the same.

I personally purchased water for 65k EcoDollars in January of 2014. @ChargerBoltz5, one of my fellow compatriots, purchased Water for just over 45k in a super deal the following summer. It wasn't terribly bad getting there; 5-6 hours of pumpkin farming and another two-three or more hours trying to find an inexpensive yet trusted seller. Now, Water is 120k (8k per USD) and will almost double to 225k (15k per USD) when the donation adjustment for the EULA is complete. Water is already more expensive than ranking up from Builder --> Mayor (100k) and will eventually be the same cost as ranking up to Mayor, buying a town warp, changing the interact flag to deny, and adding a private PvP arena!

Regardless of the cyclical price increases over the last two years, one thing remains the same. People don't want to pay for something that's a normal, and honestly key, part of the videogame. People were already frustrated at 65k, then 75k, then 90k...it makes no sense to continue to up that price further. 225k is an absurd price for a core feature of MC. Plus, that just increases the difficulty for new users to do even the basics without help. I know ECC is hardcore economy, but that's a bit /too/ hardcore. You should have to work for some things, but it shouldn't take 22.5 hours at 10k - just over half of a standard work week - to get water.

    Any Other Information:

Some FAQs/Statements I've observed. I'll add more as I see them.

    1. Give everyone access to a few blocks of water per day.
    - Why should we limit something that's infinite in the regular game? With infinite placements, it opens the door for hiring of builders to place water for farms, builders to create their own farms, and just do general Minecraft things.

    2. It's a griefing issue.
    - Common sense rule. If you grief with water, you can be banned. A stop to this may be making water a Resident+ perk ($15k) so not only does it give something to strive for, but actually reauires reading the rules before using.

Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: The custom addition andrew plans on using to handle post-EULA perks.

If we're going to make water free, we should make TPA free as well. TPA is an extremely vital feature to any multiplayer server, and if anything, I'd much rather have TPA free than water.

This suggestion has my +1 though. Hopefully both features can be free with the incoming EULA changes.

We simply just shouldn't be charging hundreds of thousands of ECD for such basic features that are literally essential to gameplay.

Why restrict TPA to only mayors? I get water for residents, as its a way to prevent grief but I literally cannot see any reason why not to give TPA to all users free of cost. TPA is a essential feature in any multiplayer server and especially ones like ECC. Absolutely every rank has a large amount of uses for it, including builders, whom I constantly see asking for someone to TPA their friend to them so they can mine or build with them.

TPA should be available for all. There's literally no reason to restrict it to mayors.

Why? I simply cannot see a connection between TPA and the other features you listed. Back is a game-changing feature that many are people are willing to shell out money for. And so are the other features you listed.

People are willing to shell out money for these things and these aren't essential or vital to basic gameplay. I really don't see why these should be free as well, especially considering the fact that assuming your proposed changes along with the other ideas go through, donators are already taking a hit from water and TPA being free. Making more features free, especially ones like these, will just upset them, making many users who would be fine with these changes outright oppose them. I'd rather not.

What if we make all features free?
That's what this thread is turning into slowly by every post. Because of this I gotta say -1. If you set a precedent of making features free such as water, many others would follow.

Thing is, water and TP are pretty essential to gameplay, ExtCreations, Commands, Pets, etc. aren't exactly necessary.

This isn't setting a precent for all features to be free, it's saying the essentials should be free or a bit less than 225k.

    That's a slippery slope fallacy.

Seriously though, TPA is essential to a multiplayer server, moreso than literally anything else.

Water should still be restricted somehow to prevent grief. I'd say free for all in mining though.

Refund my ecos. All 60300 of them.

Once you do that, +1. TP should be free too. If it was 15k/usd it would cost 300k. Yay, more quits.

Having the server issue ECD refunds to people who have bought perhaps the two most widely bought features on ECC will just destroy the economy. What you're suggesting is quite a silly idea.
