Minecraft Name: kukelekuuk00 Suggestion: Having portal rooms that work in a similar manner as the spawnshops. (big room you rent out every week) Reason: This seems like a good idea. Any Other Information: The price should be somewhere around 10k a week, the maximum weeks you can pay for are 6 weeks (This way people who go inactive don't just hog up the little precious space), minimum is 2 weeks. I had in mind 10 (19x19x16) rooms arranged like this: Spoiler Then a blank portal room would look like this: (Note that the floor is one block lower so you can create your own floor.) Spoiler You could create many different kinds of rooms, here are some examples: Spoiler The portal has 5 blocks between the back wall and the portal. (I'm really picky about things. :\) The amount of portal rooms should be small, preferably 10, this allows for people to sell them just like they sell high tier spawnshops. And some rules: Tradesigns and lwc protections are not allowed (lwc because worldediting it out causes problems) Redstone is not allowed. Water and lava is allowed. (I suggest strategically placing sponges to prevent water from flowing out.) The portal to that place should be where the town portals are now and the old portal should be in the hallway after that. (Would be best right at the entrance) You are required to have a town-spawn portal to able to apply for a portal room. Note: This is separate from the regular portal rooms. This is a great idea. And just like you said, place the portal to all the other "standard" portals at the end of the hallway. Auctioning these off could take huge amounts of money out of the economy, and make for some very active towns! As a kind of add-on/cool thing with this, to make towns more interactive, it would be nice to be able to add a rank to our towns as well. as in, only builders, or only mayors can edit a certain town would be awesome xD
I like the idea. There looks to be plenty of room for this in the Spawn2 region. Although, if a town that currently has a portal wants to buy a portal room, then would they loose the portal that is in the current portal room, or would it stay there forever. Maybe giving an option to still buy a perm portal for the 85k and it is in the room at the end like you said. (you said that already >.<) If you had the old portal, you would just have to walk all the way down the hall to get to the old portal room. Instead of one long hallway, would like a + shaped building work, making 4 shorter hallways? This would make at least 8 prime portal locations with maybe 4/6 total portals on each hallway, totaling 16/24 total portal rooms. You could still have a portal at the end of the hall that goes to the old portal room. Also, the floor of the hallways should be something different (like one is gold, one is iron, one is lapis, and one is diamond).
+1 At first I was thinking Kuke what is wrong with you. Then, you said it was separate and I thought about it for a few minutes and decided that this is a good idea. With the VIP portals, users would pay more money to attract more players to their town, due to a flashy area. I do think the price should be a little lower, but overall, this is a great idea! I would love to see this implemented into the server!
no i would probally nexver buy a portal i would hate having to rember to repay it every week plus it would get quite expenisive over time paying 70k up frony and having it for life is fair what they should do is go through all the portals if a user/owner of the town has been away for 5 months+ they should remove the portal but if the town has active co mayors they should not
You can pay for 6 weeks at a time, so you only have to pay once every 5-6 weeks. and one more thing I forgot, you are required to have a town portal already before you can get the portal room.
andrewkm I saw you say you were redoing spawn for more room and something involving portals. I think suggestion this would be a great idea, provided that staff have the time to do this.
Hmm, what would be the benefits of this, If someone decided to pay so much there must be something that they get out of it.
