Minecraft Name: Starleana Suggestion: When you pm someone their nickname (not the donation) for example: star, send it to the highest ranking user online, instead of the lowest rank. Reason: Not to be rankest, but usually the higher ranking users normally get more pms. Lots of times I'll do /pm office <message> then it sends to officekaos, when I was trying to pm officepwnz123. I think it would get rid of lots of confusion. (I've heard of lots of similar cases, this was only an example.) Other Information: Not that I know of? Link to this plugin: N/A
Does the PM always go to the lowest rank? Or is it alphabetical? When you type "office", "k" is before "p", so naturally I would think it looks for the player with the first alpha numeric character it can find. I do think tab should cycle names when "office" is typed out... Hm, now I am curious.
I don't think it does it to the lowest rank person, because whenever I try to PM Original_Jackson, I type /pm orig, and it goes to origamimaster10, who is a Tycoon. That being said, it's random. I would really like to see this happen, so I know it's more orderly, and less of that randomness. Also, there is a similar affect with the /pay command, and I would like to see that happen to.
Are you sure? I think it is done by the first letter to last letter, so, I believe it would still send to you. If someone who was a builder had the username "StarStar", then it would send to them if that is what you are saying. Anyway, it is done like that, it should be alphabetical like OSR pointed out.
it sure doesn't appear that way. S comes before W naturally. i'm sure @Zeek87 can confirm that he has pmed whitestar while trying to pm me.
I've PMed and TPed to Starx_evo, Whitestar, Starlindria, and I few builders with star in their names... +1
just type out people's full names, or at least the large unique parts of their name. You need to change your habits. Also, what if people want to pm lower ranks? Why should we have ranks decide who goes first in a PM. The way it works right now is alphabetically. Which is easy to implement and doesn't do any unnecessary checks.
It's alphabetical because if I do /pm Chris will go to ChrisDKN not Chris227227 and don't numbers come first?
Even when looking at other examples, it hardly seems alphabetical... I'm 0.5+ on this; it would cause it's own issues, like whatever system we have now. I'm more "upset" when /pay and /pm don't work because of some usernames... Once I tried to pay and message a user called "mew," but it always directed to someone else who had "mew" in their name. That meant it was impossible to pay or message just "mew"... Overall, I think names will always have an issue with pming and paying. Best way to get around the issues (usually...) would be to type the entire name, or a unique part. For example, I've learned that if I want to message MattBrpQc, I shortcut by doing "brpqc" because we have a lot of Matts. (Any time I am paying someone, I type the entire name.. Paying is risky and I don't know why people would shortcut names for it.)
