✽ Minecraft Name: ✽ AnnyOnion ✽ Suggestion: ✽ Option of purchasing Wolf/Ocelot spawn egg from the Star Shop where the user can tame and own the animal as a pet (2,000-3,000 nstars?) ✽ Reason: ✽ There's no immediate importance, it's just a fun and exciting feature to add onto the server just as horses have been. The only difference is these will cost higher and be much more valuable than just any normal horse eggs and add to a person's show of wealth. If entity lag (or whatever it is called) is an argument against it, I should mention that it shouldn't no longer since horses, which are affordable to all users now, are found all over the server and have yet to really become an issue over that subject. From discussing with Revan, I was told that all we need to do is to add wolves/ocelots to the protection list like we did with horses and they would become invincible. Pets, unlike horses, cannot be leaded away or unsitted to from another user who did not tame the pet originally. This means the original person who bought and spawned the pet would have full ownership of the animal and can never give the ownership away. The only negative that could come from this is someone manually pushing/moving the pet away into another location.... But like horses it should be up to the person who owns it to be responsible enough to keep it in a safe area where others cannot grief to remove the pet out (which in itself is punishable if it occurs anyways). I have discussed with several other staff members who are also interested in owning their own wolves/cats and we came to the conclusion that purchasing an egg should be anywhere from 2,000-3,000 NStars. That would definitely make it so these "pets" are more exotic, rare and less likely to overpopulate the worlds as horses have (horse eggs going at an average price of 10-15k, even less for already spawned horses). ✽ Any Other Information: ✽ Below is a screenshot of OnSceneReporter and his cat, Meowth, which resides in Legacy. A fun thing is that the owner can place a lead on the animal and take it out for a "walk" or such. As mentioned above, only the person who originally tamed the pet can place a lead on it or make it sit/unsit. ✽ Link To This Plugin: ✽ No additional plugins necessary, it would be as simple as making them invincible within the main world. The default game already allows for taming and for the original tamer to take full control of transporting the animal. Please discuss below with your opinions below and also what you think the price should be if this was to be accepted.
+1 i would like a plugin used for this so we can have any "friendly" mob as a pet. specificly the baby ones. baby cows. baby sheep, baby chickens. you get the point. have them like a vanity pet like WoW does. no benefits what so ever. they just follow you and look cute.
That would be one expensive pet I do agree that it should be rare though, and due to how seemingly easy it would be to implement: +1
Oh god... 2k to 3k nstars?? Yeah, that's not going to be me for a while... But +1! Gives more uses to a name tag! And, maybe add in like 5-10 bones/fish that the respective pet needs, so they can be quickly tamed. Or, have them pretamed?
@bandgeek12345 I think that the problem with that is being able to find an up-to-date bukkit plugin that will work and cooperate with our existing server's, which I think is either near impossible or incompatible. Which is why, for the sake of our beloved DEVs, I am choosing to only put Wolves and Ocelots as an option. They are already easy to tame and in vanilla mode will follow/can be leashed/etc, making it very possible and easy to place into our server as pets. @Monkeyz505 You need to tame them manually for them to know you are the owner. And bones/fish don't cost that much anyways. It's no different from buying a spawn horse egg and requiring to tame it yourself with food/riding it.
If this were added it would also allow users to purchase Wolf or Ocelot eggs and sell them to other users to then tame as their own.
I'm on the fence. I made a suggestion a while back to add animals like wolves and ocelots to the rarer lucky voting to encourage more voting (which we almost desperately need). However, I like the concept of buying them with Stars, too. I would like to mention though... Wolves could, in theory, be used for trolling. I have not used them recently in non-PVP zones, but they made attack someone you punch even if you do not hurt them. As well, it would allow for people to trick users into PVP zones (main worlds) just to send a wolf(s) on them. This would be nearly impossible to track, but it could happen enough to become a serious problem.
@MoofinK They could make it so that you are not able to bring them into pvp zones, and they could also make it so that they can't attack anyone in any way. I'm not sure if it will work, but it might.
+1 The thought of having a cat as a pet just melts my heart. This would make my ECC experience a lot more endearing!
I've been looking around for a plugin that allows for non hostile wolves and have yet to find one. Unless there is another way to turn off wolf hostility? At least for the main world, so we don't have to worry about wolves attacking other players. Also, I don't think this has been brought up as of yet, but if anyone brings up the subject of losing the pet... I think there are also several other plugins that allow for tracking pets via command and getting coords of their where-abouts. However I don't really see this necessary if no such plugin exists or cooperates with our current server plugins. Reason being, just like star tools, horses, or any other valuable object you own, it is always your responsibility to keep it in a safe place in a manner in which nobody can try to steal unless they break rules (grief, hack, etc). Common sense in other words. I guess I just wanted to point that out in case anyone brought that up.
+1 http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-cat-eggs.87063/ and or reward for voting and being extremely lucky
Trev I believe that Anny is wanting to make the pets something rare that that only the richest on ecc can obtain. Making them voting rewards would make them too common.
