Minecraft Name: @y0landi Suggestion: Pets of mobs that can fly should be able to hover at least one block off the ground. The Vex, Bat, Blaze, and Wither pets should have the ability to fly like their mob correspondents do. Reason: Currently the above-listed pets (tested with 2, assuming other 2 does the same) can not fly, they have the appearance of a regular grounded mob. When someone purchases a pet and assumes it can fly based on the mob itself's ability to fly, they may be annoyed with it on the ground like all the non-flying pets. Any Other Information: Currently pets follow players on the ground, even if the player is flying 30 blocks above it, the pet will still only follow on the ground. I think that if a player flies, the pet should follow. Like in the /disguise command which essentially spawns a "pet" and forces it to follow the player and do exactly what they do, I think the Pets should do the same. But using this method would allow for players to possibly gain the fly feature and abuse this in places where fly is not allowed by activating a flying pet and simply riding it. To combat this, I thought of a different (less accurate) way to give the same appearance. If at all else, have the small pets (bat and vex) hover one block above the ground. Possibly adding an invisible pig underneath. I think the riding ability uses the RIDING NBT data, and so to add a pig to the riding tag shouldn't be too complicated. I know the coding is more complex than how I am describing, but it is simply a general description. No easy fix (that I know of)
For blazes and withers, I think they are big enough for the fact they are on the ground goes un-noticed. For a vex it looks like this But for a bat, the difference is HUGE imo. And yes I did just re-use a photo from a bug report.
Nope. It will be disadvantageous (except the Wither Boss, and Blaze) for those who wishes their pets not to fly just to be fair. -1
Why would someone buy a pet bat and wish for it to go against the natural motion of the mob itself and stay stuck to the ground?
