My friends and I have been using Party Chat a lot recently and have noticed that it's very easy to miss what's said in Party Chat at a quick glance because it's the same colour as Donator chat. My suggestion is to change the colour of Party Chat to a colour that is not currently used: maybe "Mayor" Dark Green? Thank you for your consideration! ^_^ EDIT: I'm not attached to "Mayor" Dark Green. At the time it was the only colour I could think of that wasn't used for other chats. Since then I've noticed a couple other colours that I would prefer over "Mayor" Green that, as far as I know as a non-Staff member, aren't used elsewhere: "Dev" Dark Blue, "Mod" Teal ((although that might confused players)), and "SuperMod" Red ((again, might also confuse players)). I'm just looking to have it stand out from the other chats. If there's another colour that isn't used, please suggest it!
http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/t...-chat-color-to-mayor-green.49085/#post-236766 People are more content with both colours being the same than either one being mayor green, and most other colours are already used by chats.
I only see one person mention Party Chat, monkeyBUTT244: This tells me that this user is not happy with the two chats being the same colour. The thread you linked talks about changing the colour of Donator Chat to "Mayour" Dark Green and andrewkm posted at the end saying it would be changed and neither chat is Dark Green. Both are "Resident" Light Green.
Well I am not sure how often people even use party chat I know that up until recently I did not. That being said when there is a good deal of donor chat missing things in party chat is common. +1 for mayor green.
If I remember correctly, we changed donator chat to Mayor green and it was quickly changed back due to the bad response or something along those lines. Also, donator chat isn't used as often as other channels, thus I don't see it causing as much of an issue as it appears to some users. The change wouldn't harm anything as I myself don't use partychat but if it's more popular than I think, then why not.
This is why I suggested changing Party Chat, instead of Donator Chat. I figure that Party Chat isn't used as much as Donator Chat, which seems to go through periods of extreme use and no use, and so changing Party Chat won't affect as many users as changing Donator Chat would. It doesn't have to be "Mayour" Green, but that or "President" Orange are the only two colours that aren't used elsewhere or too painful that I could think of. Maybe "Dev" Blue?
Thank god donator was changed back that dark green was terrible. As for this suggestion I don't realy see the need I like it as it is.
Um... well. I don't see a problem with changing it, but, the mayor green color annoyed a LOT of players. Odds are it will only continue to cause annoyance if used as that chat channel. I say, feel free to try it, but don't be surprised if it gets voted out (Like donator did) Revanrose6
I am not at all attached to "Mayor" Green. Now that I've thought about it more, I don't think "Dev" Blue is used anywhere unless there are staff chats in that colour. I think "Dev" Blue is my ideal choice, but really any colour that's not used elsewhere.
Dev blue isn't used in staff chat as far as I know. (I don't know what color the GameAdmins+ Channel is)
ServerOwner chat? Lol, I believe you are referring to the Alert/Annoucement chat, Andrew having a private chat would be useless unless he was muttering to himself.
Donator was changed to Dark Green and it sucked. it is hard to read. So we changed it back to light green. Trust me, you don't want party chat to be dark green. how about light yellow?
...*headdesk* Local is light yellow _Tans. That would just annoy people MORE. And it can't be darker yellow either, that's staff chat.
