Minecraft Name: Falconaire Suggestion: To add the command "/nick preview [nickname]" for players with the Nickname donation feature. Reason: This would show what your nick would look like without actually making it your nickname. It would be a neat little command that would make it so you don't have to keep experimenting every 5 minutes, which is quite annoying. Any Other Information: Not sure if it's possible, probably have to be a custom made command, though I can't imagine it'd be too difficult. Link To This Plugin: N/a
We used to have something similar to this (ping echo for those who remember), but players abused it to take screenshots of fake messages from other players.
I personally use Kuke's page (http://radthorne.com/colors.php) to test what nicknames are going to look like.
But what about "name changes" would that screw up the whole nickname thing? Wait I would not care if it did or not cause I do not have /nickname
Name changes are not related to nicknames. At the moment, the only real issues is that anyone who changes their account name, would loose all access to all their trade signs, their lwc protected chests, and loose ownership of their towns. For this reason, and the confusion it would cause we've added a plugin which prevents players from logging in if they change their account name, this is a sort of ban which is automatically removed when you change back to your original name. When these systems have all been fixed up, we will probably allow name changing.
You would no longer be able to join ECC, and forefit access to all of your chests and towns. At least until we put a system in place to handle the name changes. If you changed your name before this system is put into place, I don't know if you would ever be able to rejoin. It isn't as if people aren't aware of this though, we made a warning news post, and warn users every time they join the server.
Could you not make it so you only have one word after the "/nick preview"? That way a full impersonation message could be avoided. Well, that's very helpful to know xD. Still think this command would be handy in-game since many players don't know about radthorne's website.
+1 i have seen users mess up on there /nick and have to wait to fix it, this will most likely stop it
That's what I was thinking as well, something along the lines of: "Your nickname will look like Falconaire"
