Thread Title: More Options for the mayor to customize his town. Minecraft Name: @Gmoneyman118 Suggestion: I am suggesting that people who own towns should be able to apply for/toggle such normal occurrences as fire spread or hostile mob spawning (that is 100% only in the town's region) Reason: The big push for me asking for this was for the fire spread. In my town we have the occasional resident who leaves and with it he leaves a large, hard to demolish, wooden shell behind that has to be manually removed. In place of this tedious task I would, on any other server, just burn the home in a controlled fire. But alas, despite residential support in my particular town, there is no application or process in which to let my town and my town only have a spreadable fire or any other natural occurrence like a nighttime zombie surprise happen. While it's not a likable thought for everyone for those who reside in my town it seems to be a supported opinion and we would like to choose that without bothering anyone else. For the sake of minecraft's original natural powers I ask you of ecocitycraft to let those who would like to, apply for just their town and their town only without bothering those scared of these changes, to have a burnable and ,possibly and secondarily, mob filled living space. Other Information: No this should be just a simple region edit fix. Link to this plugin/Is this a custom addition?: N/A
I like this idea. To have a controlled fire would be perfect for large wooden buildings that need to be demolished, as you said. As for the mobs, I don't know, but that is a nice idea also. The only drawback would be that those residents you mentioned could easily grief your town. But then again, it's up to you.
As I said i'd take this risk and it's up to the mayor. Thanks for your opinion. My first priority is really the fire the mobs is just extra freedom.
Don't you need pyro to place fire? Most residents or lower don't even have it so it probably wouldn't be an issue
+1 I like the idea, but there are some things I would like to add to it. #1. As far as the fire, that would be useful, but then anyone with permissions and pyro can burn, say a wooden villa, to nothing. To compensate, the ability should be given to those who have mayoral permissions within the confines of the town. #2. Mobs spawning.. As all adept minecrafters know, there are zombies and skeletons that have the ability to spawn with armor; along with skeletons always spawning with bows and zombies have the ability to carry swords, shovels, picks, and axes. This isn't really the problem until there's enchanted armor, tools, and weapons. Enchanting here is meant to be somewhat scarce, at the most. Perhaps Jamie can prevent this from happening, most likely, but I'm just trying to prevent an incident before it happens granted this suggestion in made reality.
I wouldn't mind not having enchanted armor but if the mcmmo plugin was updated with the salvage skill then people could loot, repair, and salvage metals from dropped armor making a sort of recycling company. More jobs for builders is good for the community so I'd definitely try to keep random item spawns.
My problem with fire spread: You want to demolish one single building in your town. The fire accidentally spreads to trees and other wood buildings. That would result in much fire which causes lag. :/ My problem with hostile mobs: Would the mayor be required to inform players of the town spawning mobs? And also, would it decrease the value of creeper heads/gunpowder since we would have an additional source besides the mining world with GREATLY reduced spawn rates?
I understand the concerns but I don't think a fire would get too far out of control considering 1 punch = 1 fire out.
Fire spreads way faster than you can punch it all out. It propagates exponentially before dying down.
Well safety first don't risk your town or risk the economic backlash and downfall of it too. It's definitely a mayor decision and some may choose no.
