Minecraft Name: cdlawrence Suggestion: Create a mobile ECC app that allows in app purchases of donation features Reason: While I feel like this would be a huge project, I think the outcome could be good. My idea for this came after I received a large number of itunes gift cards for christmas. If there were an app that allowed me to purchase donation features through it then the itunes gift cards could go to good use instead of horrible games/apps or wasteful in game purchases. It would open an entire new means of donation payment for the server for all users, not just myself. I have no knowledge of how the android apps work so I do not know if this would work for them as well or not (with a separate app of course, I at least know that much) Any Other Information: I am not sure that this is even possible or plausible based on itunes rules or rates for processing in app purchases.
Andrew could raise the prices of each donation so that he would recieve the same amount even after Apple takes their cut. This though would probably still be a tricky process. I'm feeling pretty neutral about this idea.
This was suggested fairly recently, too. http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-in-app-donating.80989/
If Andrew were to just raise the price of each donation while using this app. He would get more money. I have like $100+ in iTunes gift cards. I don't use iTunes, i just download my music.
I would easily spend over $600 if it was through Itunes. It is so much easier for me to use Itunes than Paypal +1
Also forgot to mention that only android has an sdk for paypal, iOS does not. Meaning, andrew would need a developer account with apple, and use THEIR programs instead of paypal. This means andrew would have to look at two places instead of 1 when processing donations. This is messy.
With that info i dont think its worth it. Unless he would say do this once a week? Not everyday 2 days. Also can you please elaborate on the need of a developer. What would the process for that be?
We just ask the customer for more money. If it takes more out. The customer simply chooses if they want to buy it or not.
Even with my itunes gift cards I would rather pay $10 for a gift card than $13, so now that I know the markup from itunes I pretty much retract my suggestion LOCKING
