Minecraft Name: WeirdBuilder Suggestion: (Pardon the grammatical errors) To make the mining world have periods where pvp is disabled and at some point, change it to pvp enabled. Ex: 4pm-8pm=Pvp Enabled, 8pm-12am=Pvp Disabled etc. A "Flip Flop" if you will, to make the mining world have a dangerous possibility to it. (Not necessarily 4 hours in between, just a decent average I believe) Reason: As one of the older players on Ecc, I've noticed some things that personally annoy me and make me want to throw my computer at the wall. Removing pvp in mining world was one of them. Some people want pvp in the mining world, but some believe that adding it will just make the mining world unbeneficial. Mostly the pvpers believe that in the mining world, there should be risks to all the benefits that come with it. Builders/Miners/Residents just want to be able to gain riches without the risk. So why not make it both?? Any Other Information: I feel that this will make Ecc feel like a "Hardcore Economy" once again. Link To This Plugin: N/A
question, which timezone would you put it in then? I personally dont liek this idea that much, if you want pvp you got the nether, hungergames etc the mining world is for mining not for pvp, its called miningworld for a reason you know....
While I would love to see pvp return to the mining world, I am against wanting to implement it for one reason. In the current warp system, all new players get sent into the mining world, and many of them come for the economy, not to pvp. That is my only reason against re-adding pvp to the mining world, as the mining world is now a world where new players commonly go, and where they mine, pvp should no longer be valid there. I am sure many users who are high ranked and great assets to the community, yet do not pvp could have been put off if they were killed when they first joined. While I know their would only be a small timezone where pvp would be enabled, that leaves a high chance that users may die and want to leave the server.
I somewhat agree, however; Adding pvp to the Mining World may help control the decreasing xp prices by limiting the amount of spawners, and amount of people whom go to the mining world. I am for and against it, i wouldnt mind having it back though.
-1, its called the mining world for a reason, people like my self, like being able to go there and not have to look behind their back every 10 seconds because their afraid someone is going to kill them. Although people miss pvp, but it gets annoying having to watch your back because people are trolls and kill you, then take your stuff and annoy you about it.
I have mixed feelings about this. There are very strong reasons for it and very strong reasons against it, as generaljoe mentioned. But eventually it comes down to it, does andrew want to make the new players happy, or make the old players happy? It puts andrew in a horrible position. The prospect of losing new players because they ragequit, or the prospect of regular players leaving because they are unhappy.
Perhaps a sign in front of the mining world warps saying "Warning, The mining world may be PvP enabled, Enter at your own risk"
Hey, look at it this way, When I joined back in December, Builders weren't allowed in the mining world but, there was PvP. PvP is for the PvP world yet, we should go back to the build warps and reimplement PvP in the mining world. =1 (trying to say mixed feelings)
The diamond and xp economy took a big blow when pvp was taken out of the mining world. The market for those are terrible and we are finding less and less ways to make money in the economy. Adding pvp back in during some periods of time would help for the economy and pvpers but also the time where it is no pvp to the no pvp only mine kind of people. This solution works both ways thats why i love it
Why don't we just close down the mining world for a few hours a day. This would keep supplies limited. Perhaps, if it were simple enough with code, a 4 hr on 4 hr off system or something.
I dont like the idea of turning mining of, some of us are not on for more than one or 2 hours max a day at variable times. Which might mean that some never really can mine in the mining world... Enabeling PvP might indeed have a positive effect on the economy (which indeed could really use a boost...) I was against the idea but it might indeed give the economy some boosts so right now I'm +1
Er, it seems a bit unlikely that someone would only have a less then 4 hour slot in a 24 hr day. Even if you got a limit of 1 hr playtime or 2 hr playtime, it seems unlikely you don't have more then a 4 hour span when which to do it.
Obviously we live completly different lives, me and my friends all play on here and all have the same problem, school during the day, maybe half an hour in the afternoon to play and then an hour or so at the end of the evening. There is no such thing as choosing when you have spare time if your time is not only affected by when you want to play, there is school, work, social life and it is nice to sleep every once in a while. For the turning miningworld of for a set amount of time I vote -100 if I could.
Honestly, I miss the mining world pvp. It always made me worried to be mining in there, which adds to the intensity. I often was reluctant to go there, which, if others chose not to go, would mean less people mining and exp farming which in turn would raise the ore/exp prices. I agree with readding pvp, but like you have already said, the only problem is the build warps. I did not like the build warps in the main world, I feel it just destroyed the world. But that is why alternating between pvp and non pvp could work.
