Reason:It would simulate a better economy if the government (in this case, andrewkm) to auction/sell off a 200x200 plot only mine-able by you/people you add to the region. This will be added at a random spot on the mining world and it could cost upwards of 50k Any Other Information:It would be fun and more realistic instead of just mine for all world. It shouldn't take too much longer to add in 1 mining claim. Example Auction: Andrewkm/Skylexia: The auction for a very valuable Mining claim in the Mining world begins now! this will run for 7 days and will end at 7 P.M. EST. The auction starts at 50k! GO! No unnecessary posts allowed, you will be giving a forum warning. Also, all bids must be at least 1k higher than the previous one with the exception of the opening price. If this ever gets implemented, I wouldn't care because I would be mining in the main world 10k blocks away from spawn
Although you are correct about this adding a realistic government of sorts and more realistic and immersing economy, I just don't see it happening. Andrew/Sky are very busy people and I don't feel they have the time to do this. Along with the time very minimum time slots they have I believe there would be more people getting angry at other's claims. Also, can you make 50k off of mining a 200x200?
Interesting idea. The person who won the auction would definitely have a lot more power and gain a lot more ores. How would andrew choose the land? If it was pre chosen it might end up as ocean sometimes. Otherwise, I think it's a grand idea. I see no issues whatsoever with anything else.
I don't see how it would mean anything... Just run far enough and you can find untouched spots. Unless you restricted the whole world, which we would never do.
I've seriously run to the edge of the map and still found grief. The world is only 4,000 blocks by 4,000 blocks.
It takes around 5-10 minutes to do a mayor/pres application, so I don't think that would be too much trouble after taking 2-3 hours to regenerate the world. Also, you'd be surprised how much 200x200 virgin ground holds..... Ocean or land, it does not change the amount of ore underneath (exception of mountain region) you will still make money if you got it for the right price at auction. I run into a shaft every couple seconds/minutes depending on where I am. When I do find virgin ground, it's short.
There would be less ore under the ocean. I know most people are only interested in the layers with gold/redstone/lapis and below, but ocean biomes would cut off a lot of coal and iron. But still, your getting all that land to yourself. If it's a bad round in the mining world, wait til the next one. Still agreed
