Minecraft Name: DJNuKe Suggestion: New, monthly-resetting area for mining Reason: I've seen a lot of people telling that all the caves they find are already explored and that their ressources are already taken. What we could have, is maybe a world, similar to the Nether, that would be reset every month or so, that people could go in and explore new caves, mineshafts and ravines, etc. There would need to be a portal at spawn for access! Now I dunno how this would work, since it would require a "cave-only" mod or plugin, so there's no surface area. If possible, there could even be boosted spawn rates on mobs to make it a bit more dangerous! There could be a Rank associated to it, like for the Nether, that would be availble for 20,000 or 30,000$. PVP disabled, and "griefing" allowed, since it wouldnt matter much because everything would be reset every month or so!
+1 I like this idea. The main world looks bad as it is in some places and this will help to slow the decline of the terrain. Also, as of now we have a finite amount of diamonds, which means eventually they will run out. If we have a mining world then this will no longer happen.
Our map is 12000x120000 It will be a LONG time before we run out of diamonds. Branch mine. You don't NEED caves to mine.
Its not only about ressources, its also about CAVE EXPLORING.. I don't need any more diamond, nor any other ores. Its just interesting to explore mineshafts, ravines and caves.. Thats pretty much the basics of what this game is about, you know, MINEcraft
I fully support this idea. I suggested something similar a long time ago. It's also annoying to run into tons of towns when you are mining. I would love to see a new world that gets reset just for mining. I'd definitely be willing to pay $20000 for permanent access.
+1 great idea. i also like to go mining, but that urge has taken down since i keep bumping into other manmade tunnels. it is reaaly anoying. i would completely support this idea.
I, for the first time in a while, agree, we need a map for this now. With the influx of players in the last month or two, the resources are draining at a very fast rate. I, for one, have stopped mining all together just because of the fact I can't find a spot not already explored. And when I do, it doesn't take long before I find another thing that is explored. I think that a great time for this to happen is when 1.2 comes out. Not only could it be a place to go mining, but it could also serve as a place to check out the new biomes/changes made to biome code over the updates so that this map can be the one we stick with. It will allow people to see/tame the new Ocelots/Cats and look at the new biomes like the jungle. Nothing needs to be special about the map, it doesn't need to be all caves. Just needs to be a map that resets every now and then, to make it so that ores are a little less finite and so you can see all the new stuff being added. However, I have to disagree with it being a rank that's 20-30k. I think it should just be resident+. Gives them another perk (Which in my opinion, they do need another perk.), and prevents it from looking like a build portal... lol.
Pvp on, creepers explode and destroy blocks, hard mode on, increased spawn rates, lower minimum spawn distance(to 5 blocks away!), all commands(/home, /spawn) disabled and no LWC!
I really agree with this! I have made my town horribly ugly with a massive mine below it. It would be nice to have my town for building and a place to mine.
This is the mining world, not anarchy. Besides we already have something like this, it's called the nether.
I totally agree with this idea, since we always run in to towns while mining in columns and going through shafts. Since ECC is going bigger and more players are on the server. More players become president and mayors,which makes more areas protected and there will soon be no more space for builders and people to mine.So i totally support this idea.
This would be much better then portals to the wild and you just wipe it each month for a fresh map, make the mining map a resident or donator perk. Probably make the map like 3k by 3k or something. Seen the idea mentioned in other threads, guess its good it has its own thread so maybe it will happen.
Yes. i really hope this idea gets noticed by those of higher authority then moderator. every cave in my town is explored already. even tho how remote it is. on ECC so far ive found only 2 non explored mineshafts and 1 half explored. i say "i suck at mining" mostly cuz heres nowhere to mine!!!
That might be a bit extreme. I say PVP Off, Exploding creepers yes, increased spawn rates and disabled commands, except Spawn and Home. (no sethome, no extcommand, no extcreation, etc) This would add a Survival Aspect.. No unlimited tools/armor with repairs, will have to come back to normal world to repair and empty inventory and have to start mining from the beginning, at the world's Portal. This way, areas real far from the Portal would be harder to explore since you need to survive and have enough food, inventory space and tools to get there!
1- Map is already big enough 2- It would couse lag 3- We might run out of caves, but never of ores-branch mine 4-Mining would inflate the economy and people would start getting ranks faster and pumpkin farms would desert 5-Seerver economy right now is very well balanced, it could be better but that wouldnt solve the problem we need to deinflate the economy not inflate it
