Minecraft Name:mattybillo1 Suggestion: Make mob traps illegal and possibly bring back a fine to anyone caught using or building/have them. Reason: The exp market has been ruined, and this leads to more problems than may be obvious. As the exp market lowers, enchanted items become less valuable this allows for more of them which means more people with the ability to earn large money off farming and mining. It also means if people die with these tools it does not take money out the economy whereas if the tools are worth more when people die it takes a lot of money out the economy that they may have spent buying the tool. Also, you can re-add the fine in order to take more money out of the server. I don't think moderators would mind to much having to find people building or using them as it isn't the worst task to perform. Any Other Information: This will also improve pvp as items would increase in value which would attract more people to pvp. Link To This Plugin:N/A
I am against this. It was crazy how hard it was to enforce this. We had users being told that what they were doing wasn’t a mob trap by mods, then turning around and getting banned and fined by another mod. On top of this you had the people that got banned for just being in the area of a mob trap and the people banned for finding a mob trap destroying a block in the area and moving on. The rule was always up to interpretation and created a lot of angry people. It is just so much easier to say just build them, saves a lot of grief. The only way we could bring back this rule is to make the rule as specific as humanly possible and make sure all mods interpret it the same way.
I am fully aware of this issue. This was just an idea as many people were complaining about how cheap exp and enchanted tools are. I am aware it has it's advantages and disadvantages.
exp did not become cheaper, in fact, the price of exp even went up, the standard is $2-2.5 per orb, which is more than enough and I am still capable of selling tons of sets of exp. The demands for exp went up considerably with the new addition of anvils, enough to balance things out. Enchanted tools are cheap because of anvils. (eff 5 things, because regular enchanted tools sold like crap anyway) Everything is fine as it is. -1
matty, there was a reason why this was not a rule anymore. Andrew and the staff dont think its necessary to keep this a rule.
The demand for xp has gone down, so the price has gone down. The xp market is user based and should stay that way, just because the price of something drops doesn't meant the server has to intervene to raise the price. Were not back in 1.2.5, thinks have changed, so get use to it.
Why would we complain about prices being cheap again? Speaking for the builders who just want a good shovel to clear some dirt with I think that mob traps are a great way to help them even though they don't use it. They can't afford to pay 5k+ for a CHANCE at getting the enchantment they wanted. Sorry but I think there are more efficient ways to increase the cost of exp. -1
What are these more efficient ways then? I can't think of another that wouldn't be disrupted a donation feature which will be even less popular. I understand that we aren't in 1.2.5 but read what I said but exp being worth more helps to reduce money in the economy and btw it isn't entirely user based it cannot go over $4 per orb because spawn sells it for that much. I am aware they removed it, if you know why please tell me I am un-aware, although i am sure there was good reasoning behind removing it.
