Minecraft Name: M8rix_rep Suggestion: Make it illegal to have an auto repair macro. Reason: I don't understand how an auto repair macro can be legal when there is a feature that repairs the tool for you for 50 dollars. Any Other Information: Someone explain to me how this is even logical to be legal. Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: no
You mentioned that it was part of a donation feature, as is /no. Not once did you mention it affecting the economy.
Economically damaging? Dafuq? Spoiler Cause having it repair automatically and pressing a button ever 5 mins is economically damaging.
If you block this, then I can literally have a /repair key on my R button, which doesn't take much effort really, at all. I literally see no point in doing this, especially when there can be other ways to repair effortlessly. Doesn't seem worth it to me, and doing this will solve more problems than it creates. Oh, and ECC doesn't even have client permissions either. Unless we can convince andrew to add it, this definitely won't be happening. -1
Many people have broken tools from not paying attention to what they are doing. That is how this is economically damaging. The economy thrives on people accidentally breaking tools to put money out of the economy. If everyone used this no tools would break.
There's quite a large difference between having players get frustrated and quit due to their valuable tools breaking and helping the economy. Not to mention, this takes nether stars and EXP out of the economy, increasing inflation - The opposite effect intended when taking money out of the economy.
Thinks that take a lot of money out of the economy: - Sportsbook - Lottery - Applications Things that don't take a lot of money out of the economy: - People breaking tools
But how would this change the economy? Say I believe that breaking tools to takes money out of the economy, you still have to pay 50 dollars irl to even have the chance to have a auto repair macro. I can't see it doing much damage +1
How would this work? Sure you can ban the onItemDurabilityChange event, then just have the repair command run on a timed loop. It's not very feasible. Apart from that I'm impartial, as I don't even have the feature.
Personally I have paid for /nightvision and auto repair and do not think that any users without these features should be permitted to use a mod that allows them access. We block fly mods which are essentially the same thing. +1
U clearly do not know how changing gamma in settings works. Macro mod has been around for a while, before auto repair was added. If you didn't want the feature don't buy it. Auto repairing tools is the same as fly mods. Uh no? Last I checked u could repair tools without auto repair. It's literally just typing text into chat. You certainly can't fly without fly mod. Finally, how would you even enforce this silly suggestion. Report people for not placing torches as they mine or count in the logs seconds between each repair?
I have macro mod myself, so what are you talking about? All I am saying is why would someone willingly pay money to the server when they are legally allowed to program the features themselves. If you do not purchase fly there are a number of mods that can be downloaded to bypass the server and use it for free, this is what I am referring to as this is banned. Easily, actually. The use of certain aspects of macro mod could be blocked or the whole mod itself. Although I am among one of the mod users and would prefer not for it to be removed completely.
1. Gamma has nothing to do with macro mod 2. Cause they are dumb? Don't buy stuff you already have access too. (Also buy it cause of other things in the package) 3. Fly is an actual exploit. You are doing something (flying) that you cannot do without it. Repairing tools is literally just typing a command in chat. There is no exploit. 4. Disable echo? The most useful macro mod command. No thanks. Also this still doesn't block you from seeing in the dark.
All I am saying is that this limits the amount of money the server will make from donations if users can do these things when there are features dedicated to them.
Eh. Don't really agree. Feels like someone banning brand A tires so they can have a monopoly with brand B tires when brand B tires are superior anyways. Like someone banning ice cream to only sell frozen yogurt. Don't really like the idea at all.
