Hi. It's hard to make money on a spawnshop if you're not in the first three rows. I know whereof I speak, because I made money on a 4th row shop for awhile before I traded up to Row 2. And there are a lot of non-first-three-row-located (that got away from me) shops which are empty. And having a shop is fun if you're not losing your [self-edit] doing it. I suggest lowering the rent on all shops except for the first three rows to $2,000.00 a week to encourage a more active market, open up the activity to less wealthy players, and more accurately peg the value of non-first-three shops to their profit potential. Discuss!
+1 too many empty shops, many people would like to open one but fear $5k a week will leave them in debt
+1 Non prime shops are smaller so the rent should be less. Also the spawn shops have been very dead lately and this could help. I know before I was always losing money because of rent. +1
I think Mission has the right idea in regards to this suggestion - it would be better to wait until the new spawn shop is created. Even if it does take a couple of years
one of 2 things +1 to this suggestion to make the 4th and farther shops more popular, or change up the market design so all the shops get equally / close to equally looked at
Your 2nd point would not be a good idea AT ALL. A market should NOT be equal. That defeats the purpose of it. The "equality" bullsh*t that everyone seems to be going on about in this era needs to stop. In general equality is stupid. Work for what you want, it shouldn't be handed to you on a silver platter. Back to your point... What's the point in having 20 Walmarts within a very short radius? Yes, it provides competition but it literally ruins the marketplace. Back when the server strived we always had 1-2 Walmarts, not the 20+ that we have now.
-1 As you can most likely tell from my above post. Things shouldn't be made that easy on people wanting spawnshops. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about trying to get new players to set up shops, but come on... It's f*cking 5k/week... 20 mins of farming/mining. It's not that hard. Leave the damn cost at what it currently is at.
@a18greek18 I too hate the equality bullshit, everyone wants everything to be handed to them and are too lazy to work for something that rightfully requires work. Now though I do agree with the suggestion, it should only be dropped to 3k per week minimum. 5k isn't even that much but it isn't justified to have smaller shops cost the same as larger shops (as in space inside the shop, not how close it is to the portal). Perhaps we can make the market smaller (delete some of the shops towards the end) to bring amongst more competition and value to the stalls we already have?
+1 to the suggestion, less shop less price. Same as plots basically. And to the guys complaining about the 'Equality era' just stop. Seriously. Look at a history book please. Things arent handed to you when you gain equality (granted the equality argument shouldn't be used in a minecraft server -3- shops cant be made equal.)
I'd even say 3k/week is too little. I was thinking that the cost of the front 3 rows should be 10k/week and the rest should be 5k/week.
Nice subtweet. However you're wrong though. I see many people here complaining about this sh*t that is "equality" and that things should be made easier because it was easy back in the day blah blah blah... The fact of the matter is that most things on ECC have become easy. Yes, over time all economies are destined to become more and more inflated, and the same goes for ECC, but we shouldn't be making things easier than they already are. 5k/week is literally nothing. It's insignificant. It's minute. Why change something that's already insignificant. There would arguably be no difference. If anything, increase the price of the front 3 rows to 10k/week to make things slightly harder for richer people.
