Stay with me here, have maybe one or two lotteries a day where the max ticket limit is 1. Everyone could buy 1 ticket without fear of snipes. It would be great for the people who don't have much money to spend, but still want to participate. I think that would be really cool, if it's do-able.
This has been suggested endless amounts of times, and has been rejected every single time. Our Lottery system is Clean, Functional, and well balanced. There is no need for change, the fear of Snipers is apart of the gamble. It's you're decision to buy Lottery tickets or not. Andrew has always suggested that you shouldn't play the Lottery, especially if you're trying to build you're balance. Personally, I believe the Lottery is a source of entertainment & fame more then it's used to make Money. Basically, play the Lottery at you're own risk, it isn't going to change.
Personally I agree with jets. You play lotto at your own risk. It's your choice to gamble how much ever you want to in the lotto and the snipers are always there adding to the risk. Honestly, if you don't want to take the risk of losing money in the lotto then don't play lotto.
You basicaly think your the one making the decision on every loto suggestion thread and you talk about it like its a bad idea and never will happen, do you mind thinking of if you dont have anything positive to say dont say it at all, its a good thing you should abide by instead of just dissing every loto thread.
The point of suggestions is to throw back and forth the pros and cons of the idea. If only the good aspects of the suggestion are taken into consideration most suggestions would be implemented that may not be needed or may even be bad for the server. The thread is open so that all users can post their opinions and weigh in their observations on the matter. The negatives help as much as the positives do to shape a suggestion to ultimately improve the server.
I don't think that. I just explain exactly what Andrew would tell you. It is a bad idea, and it never will happen. Lottery isn't going to change unless someone brings up a concrete idea, and has supporting statements. What I'm saying isn't Negative, I'm simply stating my opinion on the Suggestion, that it would be a bad idea. I'm not just saying "No." without reasoning, I'm explaining why it would be a negative thing to add to the server. That's what Suggestions are made for, don't expect for every response to be Positive, because not everyone agrees with you're Suggestion.
Well i don't see owner under your name so don't put words in Andrew's mouth because for all you know he might think its a good idea, and your not giving an opinion your basically acting like you own the server saying it will never happen and this and that when its not under your discretion to make those decisions.
You are completely misinterpreting what jetscat says. Andrew has said that he won't change or add to the lottery to fit the poor many times in the past. The lottery is for the rich and it will stay that way. Jetscat merely explained his opinion and strengthened that with the opinion of andrew. He's not acting like the owner, he's spreading the owner's words. It's different.
Really the difference between 99 people putting in 1 ticket each or 1 person putting 99 tickets against your 1 ticket is nothing. You have exactly the same probability of winning in scenario a as in scenario b. The sole difference present and it isn't statistically-wise is that you will have 1 very upset person in the event of your 1 ticket winning the other 99. Lotto is about statistics and probability you just have a greater chance of winning if you put more money in there is no way around this. Lowering the pool to 1 ticket each and you will only ever be able to win piecemeal prizes and never have a chance at the bigger stakes making lotto down the track for the rich a boring sport.
I like this idea a lot.... But I don't see it happening. Maybe a completely separate and possibly player-run lotto could be established in this form instead?
