I like this idea! For people like me, who never participate in the lotto, it is a little annoying to see 20 people buy tickets everytime the lotto goes off. +1
Agreed with the above people, great idea. They should make lottery an ACTUAL CHAT channel instead of being a server-wide broadcast everytime someone buys a ticket!
Maybe andrew could work with the devs and make it a donator feature like being able to leave all channels and having server alerts turned off.
I believe this has been suggested before (I might have even suggested it once) and it was shot down. Last time it was shot down, it was because Andrew wanted the lottery to always been seen. It's a temptation ... and it gets money out of the system with the tax. I personally would like the ticket-buying to be hidden, but when it comes to the lottery, Andrew very rarely changes things. xD
When you see the lottery you remember, when you don't see the lottery you forget it exists. Those who remember are usually tempted to buy tickets.
What happens if i'm not interested in playing the lottery though and I want to work or mine, then what. Some of us also don't even play the lottery like myself so why should we be forced to see that screen if we don't want to.
Impulsive behaviour. Sometimes people see something and decide to go with it, it's something nearly everyone does and by hiding the messages you would suppress people's impulsive behaviour and that is something we DON'T want.
