Thread Title: Later stock market hours Minecraft Name: Ian__D Suggestion: I suggest we have the stock exchange close around 6-7 PM instead of 4. Reason: I think this would be a good change because lots of ECC members like myself come home from school around the time it closes, and so they lose money/profit and they can't sell their stocks. Hey Ian! I do agree that having later closing hours would be a lot more convenient for many users including myself. However, I believe that the opening/closing times were established to prevent any sort of exploit that could come from exchanging stocks after hours. Although I cannot confirm this or what the exploit is/was, I do believe this to be the case, and therefore, I don't think that this suggestion will be accepted.
Since our stock markey is based off the real stock market, there are numerous exploits surrounding after hours trading. For that reason, this will never happen. :b
Yeah, but the exploits were mainly about the opening times I believe. Can't confirm though. Either way, I don't think this will go through.
ECC stock markets will never be open when the actual markets are closed as we do not and cannot support after-hours trading.
As others have said, our stock market is based off the real world markets and they won't be open outside of the real world hours. In the future we may add other markets elsewhere in the world (e.g. UK/Australian/etc) which may have the effect of extending the hours that we can buy/sell certain stocks on ECC however for now we won't be extending the hours outside normal trading hours.
