Minecraft Name:Zjkhan Suggestion:For 1.8 we re-add enchanting tables, but in /kit starter 5 peices of lapis are added to allow people to do some enchanting! To combat the selling on the kit starter, make lapis something worth little money as it has now 1 purpose. Sadly, I don't think this suggestion will ever happen. Enchantment tables aren't disabled because lapis is too rare, they are disabled because it would make exp too worthless, seeing as it would take even less to enchant once the 1.8 system is rolled out. With that being said, adding lapis to kit starter would kill both the xp market, and cause damage to the lapis/mining profits, so I will have to say I am against this.
The 1.8 Enchanting mechanic (which ECC will not be using) makes it so an enchantment which now costs 30 levels costs 3 levels (so long as you have 30 on you) and 3 pieces of lapis. But anyway, administration has already decided we will be using the current system instead of the 1.8 mechanic, as to not absolutely murder the EXP market.
By adding more lapis, the price would have to be dropped to prevent inflation. Thus mining would have a big nerd as currently about 1/5 of my profits are from lapis. (Xp adjusted)
