I'm going to follow up on something Andrew mentioned in global this morning, that the EULA will not prohibit "feature" purchases that benefit the whole server, rather than one player. He mentioned the idea of allowing a player to purchase, say, 6 hours of double-earning, kit-free SG for everyone for $9.99 or $12.99. EDIT: @priMELval is absolutely right. The purchase should be for only one arena at any one time to be fair to people with kits. I meant to put that in to begin with, and forgot. I think this is a great idea, and think we should give him feedback on it. My addition would be that the "feature" include a single line at the beginning of each "sponsored" match, like this: "This DOUBLE, KIT-FREE SG MATCH is brought to you by the City of Lancaster! Have fun!" or "This DOUBLE, KIT-FREE SG MATCH is brought to you by /warp debt! Have fun!" The blue portion of the message would, of course, be chosen by the sponsoring player and approved by staff before it went out. I will state in advance that if something like this is created for the server, I will buy it once per month at peak time on a Saturday night Eastern time.
I think the purchases should be per arena or something. Otherwise there'd be pretty much no chance of kit arenas and kits would be 100% useless.
Most servers that I play on that do boosters like this, always promote the player at least at the time of purchase so I don't think this hard to add at all. I'd also like to add that I love the idea of all these boosters that give everyone stuff, it's so fun and it helps us feel more like a community.
A booster that increases SG winnings sounds very similar to something I've previously suggested. Six hours is too long though, and even more so when you account for the fact that it's kit-free for those entire six hours.
I don't think making one of ECC's more attractive features actually, well, attractive, for 6 hours is too long. Lets just pro/con this out here: Pros- SG is actually playable by and attractive to new players. SG is attractive to older players too. These mean more players staying past just 1 SG. Cons- People with kits may think these games are more often than they'd like and may not buy kits in the fut-- oh wait.
By saying that it's attractive, you literally defeated your own point; If it /weren't/ attractive, six hours would make sense, as that's quite a lot of time for relatively little money - That compensates for the fact that players are unlikely to buy these boosters if they were shorter/less expensive, as well, it's an unattractive feature. But we're talking about SG here - An attractive feature, according to your own words. And because SG is an attractive feature, there will be more potential purchases of the booster, therefore we can make the booster last shorter and make more money from it, as it's unlikely that we'd see significantly less purchases of the booster since SG is an attractive feature. Six hours would make sense if SG was a relatively unattractive feature. But that isn't the case, and we have a potential to make more money from the booster given the fact that it's an attractive feature.
I agree with this message 100%, and meant to include it in the original post, which has been edited to include it.
I am only for this suggestion if kits are usable in these arenas the same way they are usable in any normal arena. If so, then +1
I believe the point he's trying to make is that only one arena will have the booster applied at any point in time. One booster might be applied to Arena 1 for the time allotted, and once that booster runs out someone might buy another one for Arena 3. Anyways, I personally love the idea of boosters. I think this would be a really good idea for new players to experience sg.
Yes, but I am stating my opinion - Boosters are a good idea, something that will be bought. However, to make these games kit free it is to the detriment of kit users. Kits are the most popular of the donation features and I believe many people would agree with me here that taking away from those who support the server is not the way to go. I haven't played the survival games in weeks, I hardly ever do. But if a user knows that people can effectively stop them from using their kits (that they bought with real money!) by paying a small sum of $10 ($40 for all 4 arenas) I believe it may convince them not to buy these features. This would then result in a decrease in the quantity of Kit sales and reduce the income of the server.
Kit are gonna be avaliable with ecd anyways so this might not be needed. just sayin' [Edit: pls give me all the potatoes]
