Minecraft Name: RyanJF1 Suggestion: Create an inactivity subforum under the Off-Topic forum board. Reason: There are many threads filling up general discussion stating that users will be gone for a certain amount of days. Lately, this trend has been getting popular, and I think there should be an area dedicated to posting if you will be absent. General Discussion is not really the place to announce that you will be inactive. Any Other Information: N/A Link To This Plugin: Not a plugin.
I see no reason why not, it should be stressed in the forum's description that it's not for goodbye threads.
I haven't really noticed a whole lot of those posts actually, so I don't understand why we necessarily need another sub-forum. Plus a lot of people, like myself, just mail their town mayor when they're going away and anyone they need to talk to.
I would like to see this. However, it should probably have a limit of one thread per user, until a thread is inactive/dead for long enough that it would necroing. (If that makes...sense.) That, or something along the lines of the Towns / Nations forum boards.
I don't see why we don't treat them as Good-Bye threads. If users want to bring attention to the fact they're going on leave, they can Forum pm the users that need the awareness. Adding another thread is just as much spam as what's going on currently. An alternative of treating them like Good-Bye threads, we can also just move them to Off-topic, and make users accustom to posting away threads in that section - a dedicated sub-forum really isn't needed.
^This We shouldn't have a seperate forum for them in my opinion, as they just go dead a few days after they are posted. Might as well just lock them and consider them good-bye threads than having a whole forum full of threads that aren't active after a few days.
