Minecraft Name: ChadKellyRebel10 Suggestion: Make an in-game automatic alert system Reason: When things happen like the LWC wipe and anti-cheat testing, new players won't look at the forums and sometimes even well known players don't. If they don't look at the forums, they don't see the important alerts. Say a new player or a player that has left for a while joins during lwc looting. How will they know that they couldn't loot or whatever the situation might be. To a new player, a chest of diamonds is a chest of diamonds. Any Other Information: The system could be implemented in alert chat and say the alert every x minutes. New players would be aware of the circumstances on the server at the time as well as players who aren't "forum hawks" Link To This Plugin/Is this a custom addition?: Custom addition
If there is an important change that players really need to know like the LWC chest looting situation, put it in the MOTD. It isn't a custom addition, quite easily implementable, won't spam your chat like chat alerts will, and will ensure all players who join the server will be alerted of the major change.
And send out an email to everyone for those who only log on every 5 months thinking their stuff is safe.
I think big news should be 1. Posted on forum ideally in advance. 2. Emailed to players accounts. And 3. Sent via in game mail. Regular alerts are fine and great but some people get out of those channels asap. A mail you see every time you do anything.
Fair nuff but I sure have accidentally missed a lot of alerts then. Sending a mail seems way less annoying (if alert can't be left, it will be repeated, and for many hours to reach even a portion of players, you wanna see that?) Forum post/emails/mails all the way.
+1 So many times have I been PMed in-game while on the forums. By the time I come back, chat has maxed and I can't find it.
