Minecraft Name: Nicodemux Suggestion: I know that Revanrose has indicated that there will definitely be a build contest for Halloween. I would like it if there was also one before then, since Halloween is still quite a ways away. Also, please please please increase the size of the plots! Even just a little bit would make a huge difference in the possible quality of the builds. Reason: It seems like a large percentage of the ECC community enjoys the build contests. So please give them what they want! I personally love trying to build creatively, within the confines of a plot and a specific concept. I'm not always the best at it but I still enjoy it regardless, even if I don't win anything. Any Other Information: Possible ideas for a build competition include: Time Period Themed: Medieval Futuristic Ancient (i.e. Greek/Roman) Content Themed: Amusement Park (rollercoasters & other rides/games, would be fun to try them out!) Best Gardens (think how pretty!) Best abstract artwork (sculptures and such, but this one might be harder to judge) Best Treehouse FEEL FREE TO MAKE A REPLY WITH MORE SUGGESTIONS
I agree that building contests should continue, but if they're going to have any real value to them, make them once every 1-3 months, or restrict them to holidays only. If you have one once a month or less, they lose value and won't be important anymore. Nevertheless, +1
I would like another building competition. It's awesome to see so many forms and styles of building. I personally just walk around and try to find ideas for new projects X) +1
I completely agree that they shouldn't happen too often. I personally think once every 2-3 months. This makes sure that the competitions still retain their value and importance. Similarly, the number of hours to set up and judge build competitions is very high. I know many staff spent numerous hours judging builds and to have too many competitions would be asking a lot of judges. I know that phys spent roughly 14 hours judging. Also, there are other competitions/events in the pipeline. But they are not for me to announce - Watch this space.
Thanks for your reply Dewsy, I did not realize the workload was quite that heavy, so I understand what you are saying about monthly being a bit too frequent. I greatly appreciate the work that staff and the judges put into the summer build contest, and the previous build contests (like last year's Halloween contest). I'm really looking forward to these "other events", and glad to be a part of the EcoCityCraft community.
Hi Dewsy, are there any further event announcements forthcoming? It's been a couple of weeks and I feel like I could use something to perk up my interest in ECC.
I would think the ECC Halloween Build Contest would be coming up soon. I wouldn't mind that one being the next one . +1
