Minecraft Name: AgentHare Ban Appeals & Complaints Forum Irrelevant Posting Deleting all irrelevant posts: This one I'm stressing the most, and to be honest I'm surprised its not in practice already (or at least half the time it does not even happen). The whole point of people posting is so they get heard, and so people see what they wrote. People don't care about getting forum warnings, because even then people will still be able to see what was written. If it is entirely impossible for people to see, there is zero motivation to post your opinion. Simply delete their post, and either start a forum conversation with them or tag them (do not quote) notifying of their forum warning. Troll rating: Just add a troll rating, to give someone the opportunity to give their opinion that they just MUST say without having to post. Lock all threads that require no further information: If all evidence is required and no other side of the story is required, then just lock it. It MAY cause confusion if things are open or not, so when the complaint has begun getting settled, put in the title: [Open], and when its over, [Closed] Scamming Preventing Scammers Banning resident scholarships: One of the root causes of scamming, as stated by Revanrose in one of her earlier suggestions, is people not knowing how to make money. I know for the community, seeing 15k (that it is cheap) for resident, think it is easy way to "help out". However, being a builder is when you learn how to make money, when you learn the rules and when you begin to understand things. Taking away this experience is an issue. Think about it like this: For resident, its 15k. Then to move up its 85k. That is a HUGE jump. Taking this experience, they will have no idea what to do from there and then one of the only options is scamming. New rank in between Resident/Mayor: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-new-rank.98192/ Repeat Offenders Temp bans: Increase temp ban punishments for repeat offenders. This means they get a sentence, and no matter their donation, rank or appeal, they will get a decent punishment. Hopefully this causes people to avoid breaking rules more and more often. more may be added
I've made a suggestion regarding the re-implementation of ratings. Dewsy has commented on it as well, so hopefully that one is added.
+1 to everything but the banning of "resident scholarships", only because I don't see how that'd be enforced and the extra rank. However, I am honestly sick of people bragging about how great they are because they donated 15k or so to a builder and the donor thinking that they did the builder a favor. Instead, it takes away the experience and gameplay of the player. Banning donating would be unenforceable and there is also so many gray areas. I think that people need to be brought to the attention that donating ≠ helping. Everything else you suggested makes perfect sense and you explained why already so I won't reexplain it.
Sure! I agree to all of this! But when the heck has any suggestion been implemented in the last two months? Correct me if I'm wrong, but no suggestions have been implemented...
Without quoting specifics we do already have an increase of punishment scheme for repeat bans of the same offense, and users with a number of bans, even for different reasons, within a short span of time are always handled more severely. That part of your suggestion has been in place for some time now. Also, in regards to irrelevant and troll posting we have just issued some new forum warnings to take care of that, and you will likely see a great deal of posts that would warranty a warning being deleted as well in order to keep the appeal and complaint threads tidy. To add a rank between Res and Mayor would just cost more money for new users in the long run. 15k + whatever + 85k, rather than the 15k/85k that they have to earn/pay now. I see this as a deterrent rather than a good thing and must sadly -1 that suggestion.
In the long run yes, however it gives them opportunity to learn the server, get better tools, get property, build/loan out a farm, etc. As I believe I stated in the other thread, if you look at it from Resident ---> Mayor, yes, it is more. However the purpose of the new rank is to look at it from Resident ---> New Rank. The jump from 15k to 35k is the focus, not the additional they have to pay. Would also make town formation slow down a bit and *perhaps* help maintain their value (or possibly raise it)
