Thread Title: [Suggestion] Friends (Bukkit Plugin) Minecraft Name: linkgoro99 Suggestion: Friends Bukkit Plugin Reason: I figure this plugin would make it easier for ECC players to keep track of who they usually talk to, socialize, or even who has the best prices at their shops. And this plugin also tells what friends of theirs are online and who is offline Other Information: The commands are /friends or /friend (they ARE the same exact thing), this mod does allow the player to enable pvp and disable it. If the current ECC plugins disable pvp no matter what, then this command should be no problem. /friend pvp <on/off>. And the final command is /friend help <page#>, acoording to the page, it says that this command is not done. However there are only a few commands and the command is already in the process of being finished. Link to this plugin: http://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/friends-----bukkit-plugin/
This has been suggested multiple times, and has not been done for a reason. The use of McMMO parties already disables PvP against those in the same party (Atleast it does in the nether, not sure if it does in town PvP arenas). Being in one of these parties also allows the use of the command '/party', which gives a list of all players in the party and tells if they are online or offline. The ability to toggle PvP could also cause some problems in SG, which would need serious tweaking if this did cause problems. Overall, -1.
This exact suggestion has been shot down and rejected many times. However, there is a similar solution we already have. One of my friends owns a town chat, and has a bunch of us in there. I feel like this is even better than a friends list, because you can type /ch who to see who is online, and this way, you can talk to all of your friends privately. The chat only costs 40k, which in all honesty isn't really that hard to get, and they are a great to have. While I might not have all of my best friends in there, simply because they don't know my other friends too well, it's still great to be involved in that chat, and I highly suggest getting one.
What if you have 50 friends? People tend to shoot down suggestions that make things easier. Why does everything have to be inconvenient and hard? Make the economy hard, not usability of the game. Sent from my LG-VM701 using Tapatalk 2
If they aren't chatting in global, you don't know they're online. You shouldn't have to do /seen username for every friend everytime you log in. mcmmo parties and town chats are decent alternatives, but what if you want to use those for something besides a friend list?
This isn't about remembering who your friends are. It is about knowing which ones are online. instantly. and at a glance.
What exactly could you use this for besides a friends list, we already have McMMo parties so I'm a little confused.
/list, there arent enough users to make it hard to search through it. and as vintage said, mcmmo parties.
We really don't need a plugin to tell us who is online, and how would it work? would a message pop up saying " your friend <user a> has logged on" and if you have say 50, then that would probably be a bit spammy with users logging on and off. And /list works perfectly fine.
To quote a certain server owner: "This wont happen. Please use /list or mcmmo parties. We are not facebook." This seems pretty clear to me. You are SOL.
