Minecraft Name: clou44 Suggestion: Create a kit (and a kit sign at mining spawn) for 16 (or 32 or 64 or whatever) carrots, to be used once every 24 hours. Reason: There is nearly a constant supply of new builders asking for a gameadmin so that they can get free food. Since there are not many gameadmins, this usually means that another staff member is called several times a day to give free food to builders. It would be much easier for everyone to just have a free food sign! Cut out the middle man and make everyone happy! Any Other Information: Kit code below. Code: FreeFood: delay: 86400 items: - 391 16 Link To This Plugin: Essentials.
I doubt that little carrots with a cool down that long will kill the food market. If anything the food market was killed by /feed.
I've got $900 donated, but even I don't have feed! (or sg kits, for that matter) If you've got fly+, pyro+, and water+, you have essentially no reason to get food because you can't die when they are all activated, and with fly activated you can run without food.
We already give this amount d food to players everyday. It won't change anything except the fact that it doesn't require mods to actually go to the mining world to give the food. If everyone had access to it, it would be just like the rest of the mining world and people would grief it.
Haha I understand that, but as you know many users don't have those features, it's nice having a food market
-1, I believe this is a bad idea because that is just another thing that is handed out on this server. Why can't we make it so everyone has to supply their own food/ buy it? If all you do is mine and not farm, then go to a shop and buy some. I view this as an unnecessary hand out, everyone has access to the market and there is plenty of food sold there.
We already hand it out. This has been done for months. Probably over a year. Implementing this would just remove the middle man (staff members).
The point of my response was that they could simply buy it from the market without bothering you guys.
The only downside I can think of this is that it reduces interaction between staff and new players. My experience of actually personally giving food to a new player leads to comments such as 'Wow, the staff here are really friendly' 'Thakn you soooo much!!' etc. People really do appreciate it. Whether this is worth the time of the GAs (+ other staff at times) is the question that is most pertinent for me.
I can't really agree more with that. I think also some new players may be hesitant to reach out to staff members (especially higher ranking ones) for fear of "bothering" them - this gives them a reason to, and helps them learn that staff are happy to help them.
