I would like to suggest that we add a new forum medal, and it is the book medal This medal would be awarded to users who have made significant contributions to the server This medal would have to be applied for, however, there is a catch The user that wants to be nominated for this award must be nominated by another user. So, Player 1 would nominate Player 2 for this award after realizing the contributions they have made Other players would reply on the post, saying if they agree or disagree, and give their reasons why. An example application could be: Code: [b]Question:[/b] What is your IGN? Answer: [b]Question:[/b] Who would you like to nominate? Answer: [b]Question:[/b] What is the current rank of the user (Main World Rank)? Answer: [b]Info:[/b] Please summarize what this user has contributed in as few words as possible. Answer: [b]Info:[/b] Please give a detailed explanation of why this user should be nominated. Answer: I haven't checked the suggestions forums for ideas like this, but if someone finds a suggestion exactly like this, please post the link to it below!
Sounds good, however I think this book should be a veterans medal. (Books = smart = us oldies huehueuhe) We haven't had one for us oldies yet ;>
As good as the idea for nomination is, I can see so many threads being made due to bribing, begging, whining, making users feel bad, etc. Would just be seen as a competition, and be "abused" like the Aether competition. :/ There would need be a very clear explanation with very clear examples of what is considered a good contribution to the server. Example would be statue makers who made statues in spawn, the spawn walls, white house, or anything that ties right into the server... Otherwise, it will just be a pain and no one will have a clear idea as to what is actually a proper contribution. I like the idea, but it would need to be very clear and detailed. When I saw the book, though, I was thinking about the Wiki. o-o If someone makes an amazing, very detailed and helpful page, they can get nominated/apply for a book medal. @Rezon: Noooo. Any time there are veterans made "obvious," it just makes others feel bad or like noobs, lol. Having several "veterans" suddenly start applying would give Andrew too much work, and after several months when you are considered a "veteran," there is another huge wave of applications for Andrew to look over. Besides, not all oldies are intelligent about the server. xD
