Hey there! The Pickaxe I recently acquired an eff7 pickaxe and it is... cheap for what it is. I believe that it should rise to 2000 netherstars, eben48 and I have been tearing up the mining world with these picks and the amount of money you make from finding diamonds is ridiculous. We can make 15k+ an hour using these pickaxes and I just think that they should go up in price :3 The shovel I haven't used this, but it's pretty much useless considering eff4-eff5 is about max speed already. The Axe Again - I haven't used this, although I think the price for this is fine.
Did you read the post? I said that since I bought one I noticed that they are OP. I have no intention of selling it.
Hmm interesting. Personally, I would leave it as such. It costs as much as a Melon Sword so it makes sense that it should make as much as one. On that note how did you come up with the 15k+/hr? Did you use a specific mining technique (e.g. honeycomb mining)? Did you mine while using any features or skills (fly/speed/mcmmo/mcmmobonusplus)? I'd imagine this number is somewhat dependent on your luck, so mining for longer periods of time might offset any skewing that would result from this. Did you mine for a whole hour? Or did you mine for a few minutes and then extrapolate the results?

It's too OP. It's like having a sign for 10,000 netherstars that would give you a Netherstar Generator which gives you a netherstar every 10 minutes. Yes, it's stinkin horribly expensive. But, it's way way way too OP. Same with these picks. Yes, they are stinking horribly expensive, but they are too OP.
Do you realise that melon swords cost the same thing and people thought they were op? Just cause you can make 15-20k per hour mining doesn't mean its op.
When the mining world reset this morning, someone with an Eff VII pick already had 6 stacks of redstone at about an hour point. Not counting everything else they had collected.
I actually think it's fine as of now. Unless you have "Automine." If you're mining at a ridiculously fast speed, you're bound to miss those rare ores. Also, you'd probably only get a guarantee of obsidian.

A lot of mining profit is from player_to_player sales which doesn't create money out of thin air like /sell hand. The player market will correct and suppress mining profits by itself. If that ruins mining for you, you'll just have to adjust like everyone else has to occasionally in this economy.
Still it's rather pathetic. I'd rather make 5k an hour and come out with 2 stacks of ores then make 5k an hour and come out with 20 stacks of ores.
Melon swords make more than the 15k/hour that the pick makes, so i dont get your point eekelmo Not trying to be a hater, just wondering
