Suggestion: Allow someone to edit a post or comment in a forum conversation after they have posted it.

Reason: I was rather shocked when I found this out. I went to make a forum conversation to a close friend so I could store some backup information on my company (Transparent Toaster Inc.). So I posted some records and files and came back a little bit later to add some more and it wouldn't let me edit it. It boggles me as to why I couldn't edit something I posted there.

Any Other Information: After five minutes it won't let you edit it. That's all, for five minutes after you post it you can edit it, after that, you can't.

Link To This Plugin: It's the forums.

Is it after five minutes, or once someone reads the message...? Sometimes it is the latter, as once they have read it, they are less likely to come back and read it all again (meaning edits would probably not be seen).

Not sure if this is possible, but I see no issue with it. Could be handy in some cases, but in most it will not make a difference. Although, I would personally use it, if it is possible to change.

I rarely have real-time (or near to real-time) conversations with the forum conversation. I usually post something, then hours later someone sees and replies.

It just needs to happen because, there is absolutely no reason for it not to be usable.

Bump (tiny bit of a stretch) I still think this needs to be added and I've heard no feedback besides from Moofink.

Bump. Would still like to hear feedback as to why I couldn't edit a forum conversation after five minutes...

I would say that there is no need to edit forum conversations/PMs. Just add a new comment for whatever you wanted to add. Editting forum conversations could lead to a lot of confusion. For instance, some players use them as a form or 'evidence' for certain issues. You could easily edit it after someone has agree/disagreed to change what they have agreed/disagreed to. In my opinion it is simply safer not to allow editting.

It's the exact same way with forum posts. And yet we can edit them. What's the difference?

Staff can easily access forum posts and GameAdmins can easily see what the changes were. Conversations are harder unless someone gives staff access.

Well if they want to get the person banned or punished they would add a staff member

Yeah, wouldn't they? Still doesn't seem like much of a difference.
