Hello. My suggestion is that non-staff players should also have ranks on discord. The ranks should be Builder, Resident, Mayor, President, Tycoon, EcoLeader, EcoMaster, and EcoLegend. This could make the discord have a private chat channel for Residents+. The discord could be more organized. It could make people have more pride instead of just being an "online". This could be a lot of work, but I know that staff members could make it worth it. On discord, there should be a chat channel where we have to post a link to our forums profile to claim our discord rank. People who don't play ECC will just have the "online" rank. Bots will have a Bot rank. Thanks
No, which leads us to one of the main issues with linking multiple services of any kind: Authentication. With your suggestion I could say "My profile is https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/members/andrewkm.2, now give me the founder rank" - we need t verify that it's actually the forum member, which means that it has to be the other way around (i.e. a forum app that asks for the Discord name), which opens up a few other issues ("Hey, my Discord name is XYZ which is totally my real DIscord name. As you can see, I'm a mayor ingame and a Tycoon on Discord. Please demote the player I want to troll me.").. Why, though? I rarely see Builders post messages in Discord chat, so I'm not sure why we would need yet another channel for the same members. Bots already have their own ranks with the permissions they need, plus a [BOT] suffix.
Basically this, and it's just not worth it to change something that we all like to chat (or post memes) in and can use easily already. -1
Really, the mod ranks are good enough for me. Also by keeping everyone else the “same rank” shows some more unity between players.
